How do you know when to increase the amount in their bottles? For about 2 weeks now, DS has been wanting to eat every 1.5 hours! He is 7 weeks old and has been taking in 3oz. I feel like this is too often to want to eat, and that I won't be able to keep up with him if he keeps going like this. Is there a formula to follow when they should get an increase in their amount? At night he goes about 3-4 hours in between feedings, but I would love for him to start sleeping longer. Are their certain cues that I should be looking for to know when to up the amount? Thanks in advance! (Sorry if this seems all over the place, DS is acting very fussy!)

Re: ? for EPers
We upped his bottles when he still seemed hungry after feeding...we knew when we upped them too much because he'd either not take it or spit up the extra. I'd only increase by half an ounce at a time though, you hate to waste anything.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
This exactly. We increased when LO seemed to finish the bottle really quickly consistently! Wen increased .25oz at a time b/c LO was a 4lb preemie but I think .5 oz is a good rule to follow.
I also store my BM in 2-3oz amounts.
