When one is sick...

...is there any point in trying to to prevent the other from getting sick?

My guys are 8 months old and one is sick with a cold. I'm trying to separate their toys so that the snotty/germy/drooly baby doesn't get his brother sick. Despite my best efforts I'm sure the healthy babe is still using infected toys (oh, and they share a room). 

What do you all do when only one is sick?

    I usually just "give up" I would imagine your son was contagious before the symptoms were present. So, your other son may have already been exposed. However, you are a good mom for trying! The worst thats going to happen, your son gets the cold depite your amazing efforts. The best option, only one sick kid this week! Good Luck!!!

    Sorry you have a sick LO Sail.  I also just give up.  Especially now that they are mobile and can touch eachother, steal pacifiers, etc., I feel like it's a lost cause.

    Thanks ladies, I know, I feel like it is a lost cause and it actually makes me feel better to know that there isn't much I can really do to prevent them from both getting sick. 

    It is just so sad to see them sick :(

    i don't go crazy separating things - i do try to make sure tehy don''t share pacis, spoons, drinks, etc- but i don't do anything with toys, etc... but mine are mobile so it's harder... if they are smaller and not mobile- sure, keep toys separated... it's easier then- but likely they will both get sick - mine always did.

     

    I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

    I think you are doing the best you can by separating them as best as possible.  It always seems to be a futile effort in my house but I always try my best like what you are doing. :)
    Dx with severe endometriosis. DS#1 conceived with Met and TI. TTC#2 for 2.5 yrs. Dx 2nd IF. 4 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs, Finally IVF#1 w/ICSI worked for us! twins born 35w3d. Unexpected total hysterectomy 6/11. Now on the HRT train.

    Now that they're older I don't take much effort in keeping things seperated, if one is sick the other ones seems to catch it a day or so later so for us it's just a matter of time.
