Babies on the Brain

Oh crap! I think I took the wrong meds! Help!

My lexapro and ambien look exactly alike. The ambien is usually put away but for whatever reason, it's on my bathroom counter. I thought I took my prenatals and my lexapro but now I'm feeling a bit loopy. If I took the ambien is it dangerous for the baby? Ugh! I am so dumb.

  • It's fine if you took the Ambien. I've taken Ambien nightly since Colin was about 8 weeks old (and periodically before that) and my OB okayed me continuing to use it during pregnancy, although, hoped that I could wean back a bit - and I have thanks to being so tired from pregnancy.

I probably take 1/2 or 1 pill at least once a week. Baby will be fine! :)

ETA: The first time I was prescribed Ambien was when I was pregnant with Colin, and it was prescribed by my OB. Granted that was 3rd tri, but again, I was told it was okay to take occassionally when pregnant - and I know many insomniacs take it daily during pregnancy.

  • We've given ambien to pregnant people in the hospital countless times...so, you're fine..:)
  • It was prescribed for me to take while I was pregnant with Milo so I am sure you are fine.
