Convertible Carseats

I'm trying to find a convertible carseat to fit in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I'm having a hard time due to the way the backseat and headrests are situated.  Is there a website to see which carseats are compatible with different vehicles?  I thought I had seen one a few years ago but can't seem to find one anymore.  TIA!

Re: Convertible Carseats

  • Not sure about the website. I see you're in Columbus. If you go to Buy Buy Baby at Easton you can test the car seats out in your car there.

  • Oh, thanks!  I never even thought of that.
  • I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, we were using a Britax Roundabout which fit perfectly, but my son outgrew it in height.  I recently upgraded to a Britax Frontier 85 SICT which is HUGE (forward facing only harness to booster combo seat) and it fits perfect in my Jeep Grand Cherokee too.

We had a Graco MyRide 65 for a week, it sucked for other reasons, but it fit fine in the Jeep too.

I am not sure why your having such an issue with the head rests.  Maybe you have a different year model than I do or something because I've never seen a problem with our headrests and the car seat installation.

  • You used to be able to go to carseatdata.org, but it's a message board now instead of a data tool. I know what you mean about the headrests, mil had a Cherokee and I hated installing E's seat in it. Try asking at car-seat.org, they'll know.
