Birthing Classes in/around Indy...HELP!

Hi, ladies! My DH and I are looking for free {or very inexpensive} birthing classes being held in or around Indianapolis on the weekends. We don't have the $250+ to kick at classes right now. His car just got totaled and is in unable to be driven. However, we REALLY want to take some classes since this is our first.

Ideas as to where to look or go??

  • We took a birthing class through St. Vincent's and it was $60/couple. I'm not sure of weekend availability, but you can look it up on their website. I know they offer an online course. Good luck!

  • We also did ours through St. V. They do (or at least did for DD) offer an all day Saturday class. It was like 6- 8 hours long.

  • Some OB offices offer classes if their practice is big enough, so you might check that out. I am pretty sure IU North offers classes with all day Saturday options, but not sure on cost :/

  • We took classes through our ob Clearvista Women's Care (they attached to Community North Hospital).  They have weekend options.  The birth/infant care class was $100 and the breastfeeding class was $40 I think.

  • Thank you, ladies! I'll have to check out St. V's. Our OB is through IU North {we're a Dr. Priddy pt!} - but we don't have the money for their classes. St. Francis here on the southside has some classes to, but St. V's seems to be the least expensive. I'll look into these. Thanks again!! :)

  • I think the fast-track Saturday class at IU Health North is only $75. I would also recommend you get some books from the library to supplement and find resources online. It all depends on the type of class/approach you are looking into. Also take the tour and ask lots of questions (that is free).
