  • I'd give you an attitude too. You sound like a b!tch.

  • My DH removed all of our money and closed our accounts through HSBC because the communication was so poor.  He would end up irate whenever he had to call to check on something because they would transfer him 50 times, there were multiple communication/language barriers, he was asked to repeat himself at least 4 times per phone call and he could never get patched through to a supervisor.

    Oh, she is.  Big time.

  • Ughh that is so damn annoying! Bank of America is the worst, I hate every aspect about that bank. They don't have a clue what is going on, they always lose paperwork and their departments have no communication. Our closing on our home was pushed back 6 weeks from the original closing date because they are a big, hot mess!

it gets REALLY frustrating when it gets to the point where they are spelling things out and you still don't understand it. If I call into these lenders it is fine, but if one of their reps calls into us needing info I just want to cry.

Oh and BTW, stop being such a b!tch.

  • BOA is THE WORST. I used to work for a company that dealt with loans and making sure insurance was on BOA loans. They have more incompetent people working for them who cannot fix problems than any other company I've ever seen. And trust me, BOA makes a ton of mistakes/issues.

yeah, when I call in to them it's not bad at all. (WHEN I get a human that is.) It's the people who call in looking for policy info that drive me bitchy (i guess)

When you get to the menu, press whatever number for spanish speakers.  press '0' or just wait to get to an operator.  When they say "Hola!", just say "I'm sorry, I must have messed up and I don't speak spanish.  But can you help me anyways?"  They will because they are biligual, based here in good 'ol US of A, and most likely english is their first language.

I do this all the time with my cell phone carrier and it works 100% of the time.

It tickles my funny bone that your DH closed the account with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation due to communication issues.  I *know* that company has origins back to when Hong Kong was a British colony but still - funny.  I'm in a weird mood.

Didja know that one of their corporate headquarters in the USA is Buffalo. There, the correct acronym is actually Holy Sh!t Buffalo's Cold.

And FWIW I despise Chase. Have been with a local credit union for almost 10yrs and would never go back to a major bank.

Awww, see I bank with Chase and there's not even a Chase branch in DE.  It's a leftover from when I worked in NYC and I'm far too lazy to bother changing and I have an account with my local credit union.  And I live around the corner from my local credit union.  I'm so lame.  I heart paying ATM fees for no reason!

That's pretty interesting. I would never have thought of doing that. And, I agree, USAA is awesome and BOA has always sucked (IMO).

On the flip side, I will say that I had insanely awesome service from a rep outsourced for Adobe last month. Like insanely awesome. The worst customer service calls I've ever had were with Comcast and AT&T - both with American reps. No one area of the world holds the market on great or suck.

Yes, because Warren Buffet has a history of investing in failing companies.

I don't like you. If you don't know how to operate a link that isn't clicky, I feel badly for you.

Either way, I'm bored now. You don't have to like B of A. Makes absolutely no difference to me.

well obviously i read it because i replied about the content.  evidently you did not.

"Mr. Buffett has played the role of savior before.

In the depths of the financial crisis, Berkshire Hathaway gave Goldman Sachs a $5 billion lifeline, which came with a hefty 10 percent dividend. The investment bank paid back the money earlier this year after getting the greenlight from regulators.

When shares of General Electric got hit, Mr. Buffett stepped in with a $3 billion investment. The deal also came with a 10 percent annual payout...

With Bank of America, Mr. Buffett is once again jumping in at a point of weakness. Since the beginning of the year, the bank?s shares have dropped to less than $7, from $15. Last year, it was trading at more than $19."

he wasn't investing with them because he thought they were doing awesome. he invested because they are such a large part of the market that the country (and buffet) can't afford their failure.

hth. i look forward to reading more things for you in the future :)

You're right. I didn't read that particular article, it was the first one I goggled.

You really don't have much of a point here though. As to the bolded, I don't even know which company you're speaking of. BofA or GS? If we're talking about GS, so what? It's not the same company. I've never once heard anyone call B of A "too large to fail".

I usually enjoy a good debate. You seem to be too emotionally vested in banking for me though. Thanks for doing the reading.
