Halloween Costumes

So what is everyone's LO being for halloween? My sister gave me a cute fairy costume for Sophia . I wanted the kids to be peter pan and tinkerbell(thanks telyco for the idea) but I don't want to waste money on a costume and Ethan not wear it again like last year. Last year he just wore a skeleton sweatsuit. Maybe I should just buy it again

I think I'm going to have Dylan wear one of Justin's old costumes (a monkey) but for some reason I feel badly about that. Not sure why, as Dylan won't care and he'll only be in it a short time. And I'm not sure about Justin yet. He was saying for awhile that he wanted to be a dinosaur and now he says Woody. He was Woody last year though. He still fits in that costume but I wouldn't do that.

The boys are both being smurfs! I can't wait. For some reason I always like dressing them up as elfish type things...hahah Last year Reed was a leprachaun and Pierce was a pot of gold and the year before Reed was a garden gnome.

Justin is going as Donkey Kong from Mario Kart (his choice since August, haha) I got him a monkey costume and I'm going to put the red "DK" tie on it.

Everyone calls Brandon B, so he'll be a "bee" and Nat will be a flower. I told myself I'd make the baby costumes to save money but I'll probably lose steam and end up buying them.

i have no idea. i assume that this will be the last year i get to pick something out, but i don't want a costume i have to fight him to wear (i.e. no hat/hood etc) but i have to believe that that since he fights me on everything else these days a halloween costume won't be any different no matter what it is.

Rosie is going to be Alice in Wonderland, and Thomas is going to be the White Rabbit. I found someone on Etsy who will make an Alice dress that looks like the real thing for only a little bit more than a store bought costume. Every day she looks for the UPS truck to bring her the costume!

Belle is going to be Rapunzel from Tangled. The dress came in a couple weeks ago and it is really long, she kept tripping on it when we tried it on. I have to figure out how to hem it, the skirt is all sheer. I keep trying to talk DH into being Flynn Rider but he's not going along with it. Last yeah Belle was Minnie Mouse and the year before a lady bug.

I want to buy this for Stella but I have to get DH to agree. I don't think we're getting a costume for Audrey, she'll just wear a Halloween onesie.

I love the garden gnome. I forgot that I wanted the kids to be lawn statues. Sophia a flamingo and ethan a garden gnome. mrshark that is why ethan wore a sweatsuit. it was a fight and he wouldn't even try on the lemur costume

DD will be a dog. My mom got a bunch of great costumes from a co-worker last year (Elmo, a Dog, a Lion, and a Horse). The dog is 24 months, so it should fit well. Hopefully she will put on the head hood. There are some other things I would have chosen first, but since we have perfectly good costumes, I am sticking with it. She is excited about it anyway - she howls whenever we bring it up.

Last year I got her a cute cowgirl outfit, and made a saddle for Abby to be her horse. But then it was freezing, so last minute we stuck her in the elmo costume. This year she would have loved the elmo costume, but last year she didn't even know who he was. (but didn't care either).

Her first year was my first day back from maternity leave and she just wore a halloween sleeper. This year I have to work until 9pm, so that sucks and I will miss it.

Charlie wants to be a pirate so Paul will either be a pirate, parrot, crocodile or Peter Pan. Not really sure yet! Charlie says pirate for him too, which would be the easiest & probably cheapest...

Eve is currently obsessed with carebears and is insistent that she wants to be share bear. Of course, this costume doesn't exist.. Soo... maybe I will see if MIL can make one? and she could make a different carebear outfit for Natalie? Yeah, i'm WAY behind this year. I'm just not feeling it.

Abby is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so she is being Minnie Mouse. We also thought about having her be a Hogwarts student since she loves Harry Potter but we figured we wouldn't be able to find one in her size

Evan is going to be a pumpkin (what he asked for and has been obsessed with). He would sleep with his pumpkin from the pumpkin patch if we let him. I got a great costume at TJ Maxx for $15.

Andrew...I was going to try to find him a small pumpkin costume as Evan wanted to be a "pumpkin patch", but have not found one yet. I will keep looking .

Right now it's a close tie between a tennis player and Thomas. He got really interested in watching Wimbledon and the US Open with me this summer. For weeks after, he kept asking me to get him a tennis racket so we could play. I told him that it was getting too cold to play, he said, "I'll be a tennis player for Halloween, so you could get me a racket." Sometimes, he's too smart for his own good.

Then he saw me looking through a catalog of costumes and saw Thomas, his latest obsession, and thought that he could be Thomas. We'll probably go shopping in the next week or two and see what he picks out.

B is going to be a dalmatian. I picked up the costume for 1.75 from Old Navy at their outlet mall in February. I'm praying it won't be too hot out or we will have to think of something else.
