LO cries when daddy holds her

in Babies: 0 - 3 Months
So I need to leave LO with daddy so I can do a few things on my own. However this past week or so she screams straight until I get home and get her on the boob to calm her down. We try to have her spend one on one time with him when he gets home from work but she screams bloody murder until I grab her. He is bummed and I want her to trust him. We tried having him put my shirt over his shoulder so she could still smell me and it didn't help. She used to be totally fine with daddy now she is not. Is this a phase? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Babies smell fear and anxiety - so he needs to relax...that's what it took for my DH...but DD was 1 week old at the time...she's now just as obsessed with her Dad as her big sis'...not sure what to tell you.

    I think you just need to trust that he is ok with her and go about your business...they'll be fast friends in no time!

    That's what I told him, to relax. He is but she melts down with him we just had another episode. Anyway we will be working on it thanks for your input!

    have him try the skin to skin contact w your lo. Just have your hubby get super relaxed and comfy and have your daughter really relaxed. its a great way for them to bond this is what ds and my hubby did :)

    It worked for us to have some skin-to-skin contact. Put your LO on your DH's bare chest when she's wearing just a diaper. Cover her with a blanket so she's not cold but have her skin on him. It'll help if he hums a bit. Before you do this, make sure she's fed and in a clean diaper. It worked wonders for my DH and my DS.

    She had her meltdown and daddy was able to calm her down his own! Hopefully this will continue. We will keep the skin to skin in our back pocket! Thanks!
