I love looking and hearing about people rings so tell me about or show me yours. Also, if you could change yours to something else would you or do you love the ring you were given?
My engagement ring is a black pearl with diamonds on the side with a white gold band and my wedding band is white gold with a row of diamonds that curves to fit against my other ring. I love it. It was exactly what I wanted.
Re: Tell me about your engagement ring and/or wedding band.
I have a simple platinum band from Tiffany with a diamond set in it.
DH and I originally had yellow gold, but when we renewed our vows last year (we never had a church wedding originally and we wanted to do that) we bought new rings both platinum from there.
DH's has roman numerals around the band.
ETA:
Mine are antiques, DH's grandmother's. Definitely from a much more humble time in history. They are unique though and nobody else has them.
My BFF's dad owns a jewelry store and she has convinced DH I need an upgrade next year for our 5 year anniversary. I am not going to fight it either.
I love mine and I wouldn't change the ring, but my bands are just polished white gold and they are pretty scratched up. I wasn't sure if I wanted diamonds or solid, so I went cheaper and figured we could change later if I wanted to. I would like to get 2 diamond bands to replace the polished bands sometime.
My engagement ring is a tacori ring which I absolutely love.
My wedding band is a small diamond and sapphire band which we found at a vintage jewelry store here in New York. For our one year anniversary DH got me another band which is just plain diamonds all around. I love all my rings! However they're getting a little tight lately and I'm nervous for this pregnancy!
ETA- added PIP and deleted link
Mine are really simple. They're white gold. The engagement ring is just a round solitaire. The band has a row of little diamonds on the top. I didn't want anything fancy or especially "unique" Just something simple and classic, so I wouldn't change a thing!
When we got engaged, DH said that we could replace the stone with something bigger later on (it's .6 carats), but I said no way! I like that it's small. It reminds me of starting off young and working hard to get where we are now.
Sorry for the crappy pic..

Oh. my. God. THAT is gorgeous!!

I love mine. My MIL gave us the heart shape diamond from her engagement ring (she upgraded for their 30th wedding anniversary) and we had a ring made custom for it.
It has the center heart diamond, with small diamonds around it. The band is matching small diamonds and I like that they aren't set in, they're all just connected together to form the band. The wedding band is the same.
ETA: Just realized it's kind of blurry. Here is a better photo from the side:
Thank you!! I am still in shock that he picked it out on his own!
My engagement ring was $350 off of ebay. It's a 1/4 round diamond set in a white gold x-prong setting. Like this:
ETA: We were poor and I picked it out - it's not like H got me a cheapo ring and I'm bitter about it. lol. I just like to tell people I have an e-bay ring. Maybe it's not so odd anymore, though.
I am currently wearing a $5 fake though b/c my original is too tight and I want to have the diamond reset in a band that matches my wedding band when I can afford it.
My wedding band is custom made and patterned after my mother's. MIL has the same style, which is coincidental, but I wanted a ring like my mom's before I knew about MIL's ring. My mom's looks like this, except it's all white gold.
The engraved spaces in mine are more rounded/scalloped and there are no little etched spots around the diamonds, and my band is polished.
ETA: mine is also white gold.
I like seeing rings too
.
I love my engagement ring. Mr. Penny did a great job! I don't have any pics with my wedding band handy (and my cameraphone is craptastic), but it is the matching diamond band, looks just like the sides of my e-ring.

Here are our wedding bands. We both got platinum bands. DH's is a Scott Kay. Mine is an eternity band. I think about 8 carats. I picked it out and I love it. I originally was just going to wear this everyday so I didn't have to wear my engagement ring but have since decided to wear them both together even though it is a bit much, oh well.
here is a really bad shot of my e ring and wedding ring together on my chubby hand. I love my rings. This picture doesn't do them justice.
I have a 2 carat center stone custom made engagement ring with pave diamond on all three sides in white gold (3.5 ct total weight). The band was also custom made to match. I honestly do not remember how many carats...my guess is 2
What I would have change....to get it in platinum. I told DH not to spend the money on platinum. Come to find out I am allergic to white gold! So I need to either have it re-set in platinum which would upset me because it is not the actual ring that was blessed in church and probably would cost more. The other option is to dip it every year. All I had requested is a 2 ct center round stone...he knew I did not like channel set and wanted a semi high setting. The rest was up to him. I had found this ring that I LOVED (a Vera Wang setting)....I wanted a simple and dainty thin band on the engagement ring with the prongs to have diamonds on it and the wedding band to match. I did not want all the bling that DH forked out. Our friend is our jeweler and I think he pulled a fast one on DH and also thinking I may want more bling. He actually gave him the Vera Wang pic and when he went to pick up the ring he was surprised because it was not the one he sent him but he loved it. I was upset he paid more than I ever wanted him to (not that I know the amount) but he said I was worth it
He had the stone for almost a year before he designed the ring. He bought it at an estate sale.
I LOVE my ring and am very grateful to my hubby for buying such a beautiful set that I will have forever.

I love this! Does the center stone have diamonds around it too? Can't tell from the pic.

I have a very classic set, in yellow gold. A princess cut solitaire and the plain matching band. The diamond sits up high.
Here's a pic from our wedding:
Absolutely gorgeous! My mom has a black pearl she bought for me when I was a baby and I really want it set into a ring. My birthstone is a pearl and I told DH I would love a pearl engagement ring but his mother and aunt convinced him "I'd rather have a diamond".
This is mine, inspired by a Tacori ring that I loved
Well isn't that nice of them
I love the pearl, but it is soft and does get scratched easily. When I was a cashier at Lowe's I couldn't wear it. I also have to make sure if it gets loose I go get it re-glued.
I have seen those! Love the little heart

My engagement ring is antique from DH's grandmother. It's from ~1925 and was so pretty. I didnt change a thing except to size it down 1/2 size. DH's grandfathers BFF was a diamond distributor and in jewelry sales, so its actually a platinum setting with a european round cut diamond. I've never seen a cut quite like it and everyone asks what the cut it is b/c it is so sparkly.
My wedding band is pretty plain - it has tiny baguette diamonds that go halfway around a white gold band. I like it b/c when I travel, I just rotate the diamonds so they are down, so it looks like a plain silver ring (I leave the engagement ring at hom b/c I'd be mortified if I lost or had this ring stolen given its history).
My engagement ring is white gold, triple princess cut diamonds. My wedding band is ten tiny princess cuts set into a simple band. I told DH that I wanted a princess cut diamond in white gold for my engagment ring and he got me triples. I told him I wanted a plain whilte gold band and he got me one full of diamonds. Oh and for my wedding gift from him, he got me earrings that match the wedding band, they are the only earrings I wear! My hubby rocked when it came to the most important jewelry a girl can have!
I love my rings. I have very small hands (my 10 yr old nephew has bigger hands than me), so the diamonds themselves are not too big. The rings are size five and are a bit loose, just to give you an idea how small my hands are. I couldn't get big flashy diamonds because I would like a kid wearing costume jewellry.
Loving this post. So many beautiful rings and such different styles for everyone. I picked my ring with my best friend and made sure she knew to pass it on to my boyfriend so he'd know what I wanted.
I do like the idea of off stones for engagement rings. Off as in, not a diamond. Like gisa, that pearl is beautiful!

Thanks! Yep, it is a center stone surrounded by diamonds (a halo I think it's called).

His aunt walked out on our wedding because it wasn't "high class" enough for her (give me a break). She's quite "posh" and his mother is always trying to impress her. I try not to think about it too much, because it was the last time they were able to influence DH on any decision!
What a fun question, what woman doesnt love showing off their ring?

I LOVE mine so much. (I hope my pic works Ive never done this.) I told my then boyfriend from day one I want to pick out my own engagement ring, so propose to me with a 25 cent ring LOL. He ended up using a promise ring hed given me in the past to propose with, so I got to pick mine out and I chose this one from Shane Co.
The wedding band was not a set, but they match perfectly. We planned to get a second band for the bottom on our 5 year anniversary but now my husband is saying we can do it at 3 years

Cant wait!
The best part is I still have yet to see a ring I would rather have than mine! I bet many of us feel this way!
PS looking through the posts, what GORGEOUS rings! Were lucky girls!
Here is mine! I have always loved estate jewerly so DH went on a hunt and found this one! It was made in Germany around 1910 which I thought was so cool. I still haven't found a wedding band I like to go with it though, I figure maybe it will find me.
Have to admit, I LOVE THIS!! Super cute. I love vintage style pieces too. Looking at it, I would almost think you'd have to have a band made for it because of the shape.
Sometimes, I want to wear my mom's ring. I don't have her first set because she liked to trade up...repeatedly.
But she got one last year and it's beautiful. The opposite of what I would wear. It's loud and flashy and sparkly and full of diamonds ALL over it. It's also yellow gold where I'm a white gold girl. But it's just so pretty. I know DH would hate if I didn't wear my ring though. But sometimes when he isn't home I put hers on and wear it there. Or I wear it on my other hand. But compared to my other stuff, it is just so much more blingy.
