For me, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" makes me think of being 5 or 6 years old, driving around town with my grandma & younger cousin in my grandmas old, green boat of a car with cigarett burns on the front seat. Very good memories!
And Tim McGraws "Something Like That" (the bbq stain on a white t-shirt one) makes me think of summer between junior & senior year when DH (then BF) broke up with me.
Whats yours?
Re: What song(s) take you back to a specific memory?
Life with Blog
CCRs Down on the Bayou, makes me think of sitting in the yard (in just the light of what was streaming from the house), of my friends farm house in Zimbabwe at night, drinking (at 16, legal there) and singing along and laughing at our dads dancing inside. That was the last trip there, her father was killed about a month later. (sorry to be a downer).
Also, Sublimes well anything from their self titled album, makes me think of driving around in the summer and wasting time with friends in HS.
The song "Smooth" by Rob Thomas and Santana
"And It's just like the ocean Under the moon Well it's the same as the emotion that I get from you You got the kinda loving that can be so smooth Yeah Give me your heart Make it real Or else forget about it"
Makes me think of being 19 driving around Boise with my windows down singing the song on the top of my lungs. It always makes me think of summer.
What's up by 4 Non Blones, and Shine by Collective Soul take me back in half second to being a teenager, hanging out with my best friend and listening to "bad" music (grew up in a super strict home). SUCH good times!
Sweet Caroline - druken piano bar karaoke on vacation. Good times.
Ironic by Alanis Morissette- singing at the top of my lungs with my friends in 7th grade
Soak up the Sun by Sheryl Crow- driving down to the Indy State Fair with my grandma, we listened to this song on repeat the entire 3 hour drive.
