Ugh.... DS has been awake for 8 hours!

DS takes all naps in his FP cradle swing and that is how he falls asleep at night. Well, last night after having the swing for 2 years and using it for countless hours with two kids... the swing died.

DS refuses to sleep any other way other than in that swing. Last night he was awake from 5 p.m. to midnight when he finally fell asleep out of exhaustion. Right now he's awake and been awake since 8 a.m. with no nap.

UGH. DH is going to try to fix the swing motor tonight. If that doesn't work, I'm booking it to the nearest Walmart for a new one.

Anyone else dependent on the swing?

    We are dependent on the vibrating chair...the swing hasn't caught on yet. I can only imagine how our days would look if that little vibrator went out...reminds me of the Sex in the City episode with Samantha and using the "massager" in the chair! LOL

    Oh no! I love the swing for daytime. I would never be able to get anything done during the day. And on really bad nights its usually the only way I can get him back to sleep. Hope he can fix it!!

    No swing but we have the automatic bouncer. It ran out of batteries one day and I never knew how much I loved it before then...

    Hope you get the swing fixed today!

    My LO (kind of unfortunately) doesn't particularly love his bouncer or swing in terms of soothing - he sleeps in the swing to keep him upright for reflux, but in the off position (trying to avoid dependence for now, but turn it on occasionally for really rough stretches).  

    However, I just wanted to empathize with you on the being awake all day!  We are having a rough day here, too - DS has taken a few cat naps but that's about it.  I wish the swing would help, but no luck...
