Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I can't believe I wore that...

So, I was digging through a box last night and stumbled across some pics. WHOA! I was totally rocking some Tommy Hilfiger overalls. Whisper They were AWFUL. The overall straps were white & said TOMMY in really big letters. And...get this the top of my hair was in braids. Indifferent Oh my. I am not sure WHAT I was thinking.

Please tell me you guys have something ugly in your closet...literally.

they seemed like a good idea at the time right? RIGHT?
  • Are you sure this was a picture of you and not me?  I have the exact same picture somewhere, I am pretty sure I was probably wearing "Tommy Girl" perfume.
  • When I was kid my mom was all in to home schooling us. We were dressed in dresses that 60 year old women wore. You know the very religious women who don't wear pants. I don't keep pictures of that time because I am to embarrassed of rocking out the full skirt and mullet. My grandma liked to cut my hair and she liked to feather, all it did was give me a mullet. That being said I have some dresses in my closet my sewed for me that I take pictures in to make her feel better.

  • Stirrup pants and Sam & Libby shoes. I was HAWT!

I also had a pair of pants with Bart Simpson on them. His picture actually took up one whole leg almost. Shameful.

TOTES! Minus the heels, I am sure my shoes were far more offensive.
  • In my 4th grade picture, I'm rocking the poodle perm shoulder length hair with bangs, braces (the old fashioned, not fashionable kind), and the paisley embroidered vest with fake silk button down top. Totally styling; it's no longer in my closet though...

  • My mom dressed me in my grandmothers hand me downs, and tucked in every shirt I wore. While nanny was a hip chick for 60...a cool preteen it does not maketh! For all you canadians, it was all cotton ginny and northern reflections, but about 5 years AFTER they were cool. God help me. I have one school picture....BRUTAL does not even begin to describe it.

  • So I found out after I got married that we lived below the poverty line when I was in middle school, and that was why I never got to get the cool "in" clothes. Fortunately, that also means that I had no fugs to find. My mom still fits into a few of those items and even though they are worn out as shiit, she still wears them for doing housework.

  • In high school & college for me, it was the 90's.  In full effect.  Flannels, men's shoes, baseball hats, dark lipstick, baggy college or frat sweatshirts, unflattering jeans (in one pic they were high waisted, pleated, tapered leg...).  It's amazing any guy was interested in me.  Freshman year of college, before I discovered tweezers, is especially interesting.

OMG ME TOO! and under the overalls was a Tommy tee shirt that said Tommy in fuzzy letters. It was sad. Really sad.

Yes, or jean shorts with leggings underneath that had lace on the bottom, with a pair of white canvas shoes, or jelly shoes.

    PIP! PIP! PIP!

Did you own a Billabong jacket? There may or may not be a picture of me sporting one in one of my facebook albums. lol

Gah!  billabong jackets were the coolest when I was in 6th and 7th grade!

Along with duckhead shorts (rolled), surf tees, and loafers with no socks.

And swatch watches.  And big bangs.

  • In my 6th grade pic, I'm wearing high-waisted stonewashed denim tapered leg jeans... with a blue plaid BODYSUIT. I can't believe I worn a teenage onesie.

I burned all the pictures of the year I gave myself a home perm AND tried to dye my reddish brown hair strawberry blonde. Unfortunately, I couldn't burn my passport which has the orange home perm + Meg Ryan pixie cut disaster.

*high five* I may or may not have even had Tommy shoes. They were like Kswiss...but Tommy. I was so lame. HAHA
  • Also, there is RIGHT NOW in my closet a black zippered sweater vest with scottie dogs, holly leaves, and sequins on it.  It was a gift from an old boss who insisted I wear it to work for Christmas on year.  I saved it in case I ever have to go to a Tacky Christmas Sweater party.
  • I think I am dating myself here, but does anyone remember:

    IOU sweatshirts?

    Girbaud jeans?

Gap oversize v-neck sweaters with the different color v-neck area?

    Hypercolor t-shirts?

    Anyone??

I miss my Sam & Libbys. I wish they still made them.

I had a mullet in 7th grade. In my 7th grade pic, I was wearing the mullet with a big white bow in the back, a baggy OP shirt (before you could get OP @ Wal-Mart) these baggy black shorts with white leggin's with lace bottoms & pink Sam & Libby Shoes.

And tearaways? I totally rocked my entire Adidas "outfit" at once. Jacket, tearaways or splash pants, and striped flip-flops.

I was obsessed with Northern Getaway! I was always so jealous when I went to a birthday party and the host got something from there as a gift lol

Yep, and the tear-aways, like PP mentioned.  I had these awesome black ones with red and white stripes up the side.

    Epic.

  • Hypercolor shirts were an unfortunate choice in wardrobe for a 12-14 year old.

The color always changed in the most embarassing spots imaginable.

Like the armpits and under the boobs.
