Best bottle to use on a EBF newborn?

We've been "trying" the Playtex Nurser drop-ins but LO doesn't seem to really enjoy it. Plus, it's such a hassle pushing the air out of the drop-in. Any bottle recommendations from other EBF Moms? Oh and storage bags too! I'm pumping with the cheapy Evenflo pump from Wal-Mart but it works wonderfully!

  • The playtex nursers were DS's favorite so I can't recommend a different one.  I used the Lansinoh storage bags though.

  • DD was EBF for 2 months before I introduced a bottle and I had to go through several different bottles before I found one that she would take.  She didn't like the playtex drop-in bottle at all.  The one I found that she finally liked was the Gerber NUK.

ETA - I didn't use storage bags very often - I would freeze BM in ice cube trays but when I did use storage bags I liked the Lansinoh ones

  • I just introduced the bottle to my Tiny Dancer after a month of EBF (going back to work).  We used the tommee tippee from BRU.  She didn't mind it at all.  We did however and will continue to have my DH or someone else due the bottle feeding.
  • My little one has ony had a bottle maybe ten times but he likes Medela the best. The only other one we've tried was evenflo.
  • We used breastflow, then recently switched to Medela.  I hated the breastflow because it's a PITA to clean and was releived when DD decided that she didn't like it after all.  A lot of people like the Tommee Tippee and Dr. Brown's.  I think it depends on your LO.

    this..

I BF my DS and am now BFing my DD. Both of them used Nuk bottles and were able to go back and forth between the bottles and my breast with no problem. Only bottles I'll use while BFing!

I use the Lansinoh freezer bags.

  • We had to introduce a bottle to my 6 day old yesterday-giving pumped milk after each feeding at the breast to increase weight. Anyway, the lactation nurse said to only get Breast Flow or Dr. Browns because they have the slowest nipple. No stores around here carry Breast Flow, so we got Dr. Browns. She took to it pretty easily but I think the nipple is still too fast. It's only been a day so still hit and miss going back and forth between breast and bottle but seems like it will be ok.
