If your LO came home on a monitor, did they sleep in your room? How long did you wait until you transitioned him/her into their own room?
Right now, JS is in the nursery and H is in our room. H doesn't really have an episodes just requires his oxygen. If he alarms at night, it's because the canula is out of his nose.
Re: s/o monitors
Our son was in his nursery from the beginning - he never slept in our room. He had 38 alarms the first month, plus a bunch of false alarms. We (okay, I - my husband never heard the alarms) just ran from our room all the time. It was a pain but not that big of a deal, I guess. Now, I'm glad he started in his room because he goes down to sleep at night without too much of a fuss. We never had to make that transition.
Now, naps are another story... We're still working on that transition.
Sophia came home at 35 weeks on a monitor. She rarely ever had an episode. She would have a couple after her eye exams. She was able to come off the monitor a couple of weeks after her due date.
She slept in her bassinet, then Rock and Play next to our bed. She currently uses a Snuza Monitor and still sleeps in her Rock and Play next to our bed. My husband and I keep talking about moving her into her room, but haven't made the transition. I know we need to, but it's so convenient to just reach over and rock her at night or pop her paci back in. She also doesn't fall asleep in her crib and wakes up as soon as we place her in it... I guess we're on a learning curve right now.
Gabe was on the monitor for 12 weeks, and he was in our room the whole time (except for 1 week when he first came home).
I was having dreams that we didn't wake up for the alarm, that someone was unplugging the monitor (like someone broke into our house to unplug the monitor), all kinds of crazy stuff.
After he had been off the monitor 2 weeks we moved him we moved him cold turkey (pretty much). The day before and day of moving him he took a nap a day in his crib. Since moving him I was sleeping like crap, so we got a Snuza Go! and it has helped me settle my crazycake personality.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)
