Carrying twins low..

It seems that my boys will be the stereotype and lay low.  They have been relaxing more at the bottom of my uterus than any place else.  It is making my lower back hurt like crazy.  I carried DD high and never really had much back pain with her.  Any tips or suggestions?  My sciatica is going nuts as well!  I already can't stand to stand on my feet too long :(. oi.

  • DS was so low, we joked he was going to stick his hand out and wave. It's so uncomfortable! DD was super high, so it balanced out. But warm baths helped (when DH was home to help me get in and out of the tub!! Lol). I laid down a ton. Hopefully they shift a bit and you can get some relief!!

  • I feel your pain! My sciatica is killing me too.  Have you tried using a support band under your belly?  That should help relieve your back and belly.  Also, are you sleeping with a pillow between your knees at night?

  • I haven't tried support bands because my belly is really sensitive and I feel like they may do more harm than good. I don't even wear pants anymore :S.  I have a snoogie ( lol spell check wants to say snogging) that I use but that only helps so much.  I am hoping with my uterus moves up they will go for float up a bit heh.

  • One of my babies is really low. I feel like the keep reaching down there and pushing her back up. LOL. I am also at a phase where I don't like anything on my stomach but I am going to have to try some sort of support band as I am trying to support both the babies and all the flab I had before I got pregnant.

  • Chiropractic care will help with the sciatica, as for carrying low, well I did too with both pregnancies and really nothing helped (never tried a support band).

  • Belly supporter thing.

When you sit down, ALWAYS keep your feet up and belly supported. There was a point where I was doing everything for work one handed to hold the belly a bit.

I carried CRAZY low.  My stretch marks go into the top of my labia, and the worst ones are on my sides b/c of how much pulling down my belly did.  It gets better but just go easy.

  • I have insane psd, and it's only gotten worse as everyone's gotten heavier. laying down and warm baths are the only things that help me :/

  • I'm carrying low too and was having horrific sciatica (which I had trouble with before getting pregnant too.)  I swear by my maternity support belt.  I thought it would be uncomfortable too, and sometimes it can be a little bit, but it is SO worth it.

Also, definitely sleep with a pillow between your legs, and try laying flat on your back on a hard surface (for a short period--before you start getting light headed) with an ice pack on the side that's bothering you.

  • I have two girls who I am for some reason carrying extremely low as well. I had horrific lower back pain and sciatica until DH convinced me to get one of those body pillows. I thought it was too early, but I can't believe the difference during the day. Low back pain is significantly decreased, and no more of those shooting pains after standing for too long. I got the boppy brand (DH asked the woman in the store how much the "boopy" was and made her laugh hysterically) which goes between the knees and is thinner in the middle and perfect for going under your belly.

  • Support band advocate here! I put it off thinking it would be uncomfortable but I was in tears from the psd and sciatica pain so my OB said I had to get one. Best money I've spent so far! It has made a world of difference. yes it can be uncomfortable after a long day of wearing it but the relief exceeds the discomfort of the belt itself.

  • I'm in the same boat. The only thing that really gives me relief is a lot of warm baths and staying horizontal as much as possible, but I'm on strict bed so I don't really have a choice.

This is my siggy. Love it.
