May 2012 Moms

? for repeat moms!

What did you ladies use for oil or coco butter?  Brands?  Which work the best and smell the least?  lol  I woke up with some itchy boobs and i'm afraid to get stretch marks!  So i'd love to get into a moisturizing routine asap!

Any advice would be welcome!

THANKS!

  • I used palmers for itching/dry skin relief, but none of them prevent stretch marks.  However, I really wish they did!

  • I used Palmers also and don't have any stretch marks.  I used it every morning after my shower.  I love the smell of it, so that helped too.
  • I used the Vaseline brand. The smell wasn't fabulous (like dreamy beach smell), but it worked just fine. I didn't get any stretch marks, but I think it was more because of genetics. I wasn't too diligent about applying it.

  • I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter.  I have only a couple faint marks left on my lower belly, and I gained 40 pounds.  Although I think it has more to do with genetics, but I plan on using the same lotion this time too.  I keep forgetting to pick it up at the store.

This! I used Palmers tummy butter, as well as a few other creams for stretch marks. None of them prevented the stretch marks. Do know that while they may show up red and look all gross they really do fade away. Mine right now (an I have a tummy full of them) are while lighter then my normal skin color are hardly noticeable at all.

  • I used the Body Shop stuff... love the smell...

I got stretch mark on my breasts (went from a small A to the GH territory), but not my belly...

  • Ahhh I wish! I used the Palmers stuff...and well...my stomach is riddled with stretch marks. Ah well small price to pay right?!
  • I didn't use anything, and I escaped them. It really has nothing to do with how much you moisturize. It has lots to do with your genes. However, it may make you quit itching a bit.

This is what I am using now.

Used Palmer's and Bathand Body Works Body Butter with DD.  I have no strectch marks on my stomach but I do have them on my boobs [not bad but I know they are there, went from a B to a DD now I am a C].  FWIW my sis and mom have massive stratchmarks and swore I would get them but I didn't.  I cannot agree it is totally genes that determine if you get stretch marks or not.

This, I was stretch mark free up to 2 weeks before DD was born.  Then she dropped and the stretch marks appeared.  Still have them :(

This is me.  Religious use of Palmers but catastrophic stretch marks as of week 37 of pregnancy.  You either have the good genes or you don't!

  • I've had crazy itchy legs due to a rash and what helped them was Johnson's Baby Oil- Shea and Cocoa Butter

  • I used palmers sporadically and I have a few light stretch marks on my lower tummy and in my crotch. Yes you can get crotch stretch marks. :(  I also never put lotion down there because I didn't know!! lol

I got pupps pp so my belly stretchmarks and the one under my boob are now scars from scatting.  Pupps is A number 1 fun!
