We just found out a few days ago that our GP is leaving family practice; I'm so bummed! ![]()
She's such an amazing doctor; calm, comforting, and really takes an interest, and that's not including what an amazing knowledgable doctor she is.
She's the one that told me I was pregnant, saw me for all of my prenatal appointment, was there for Logan's birth (well, she was in the parking lot when he arrived; he came a bit faster than expected...but she did stitch me up), has seen Logan grow from a "in mommy's belly" baby to a walking, happy one year old toddler. Not to mention helping me though what we thought were going to be pregnancy-preventing fertility issues, and helping DH through his severe asthma issues.
*sigh* I understand where she's coming from: she's got 3 kids of her own and family practice is too demanding, but it's SO freaking hard to find a doctor is this city! I don't even really care about me; I can go to a walk in clinic for BCP prescriptions and a pap test once a year, but Logan needs a good doctor to take over.
So, starts the hunt for a good GP.
Sorry...just a mini -vent. Over now.

She did provide a (short) list of doctors she said were accepting new patients. I have already called 3 of them, and they actually are not taking on new families.
I have a couple more to call Monday, so fingers crossed.
Ugh, that sucks! I love my GP doctor too. Like you, she saw me through all my prenatal appointments, delivered DD and is not DD's main doctor too. I couldn't imagine trying to find someone to replace her!
Good luck to you!
