Having spent the last week trying to find a dress for a wedding in 3 weeks, it got me thinking about a few things:
1- a fashion trend you love right now

2- a fashion trend you hate right now

3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits)

3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now Tom's shoes. U-G-L-Y!

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) Banana Republic, Nordstrom, JCrew.

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again Hate them. I cut them off as soon as I get a garment home.

    1- a fashion trend you love right now  Skinny belts and shift dresses

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now  color blocks (most of them), like flashy colors that don't match in block patterns.  and faux fur

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) I tend to stick to the same stores I shop for work clothes but will expand beyond the sale racks. 

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again I cut them out but keep them so that I can safety pin them back to the lining of the dress when I need to hang it back up.

    1- a fashion trend you love right now? I honestly have no idea what is a big trend right now. The way my body is I can't pull off many "trends" so I just look for what looks right on me, and what I think is cute.

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now? Those Roman type sandals that are basically like 2 straps. The reason I hate them is because most people do not have pretty enough or well manicured feet to pull those off. I've seen some pretty nasty feet this Summer because of that trend.

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasion attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) I often wind up at Macy's or Black House White Market for dresses.

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again. I usually cut them off. I can't stand fighting them all the time to make sure they aren't sticking out.

    I have no idea what's "in fashion" or not.  I go for the classics, usually!

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits)

    Anne Taylor (NOT "Loft") usually has some good stuff that fits me decently and is attractive for nicer occasions.

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses

    I assume you mean when I'm wearing the dress? :) I tuck 'em around my bra straps -- once under the bra strap, in whichever direction makes 'em point away from the nearest opening (i.e. the neck or the "sleeves" on a sleeveless dress). If it's a really wide neck AND sleeveless dress, I'll put the hanger strap once under the bra strap, back over the bra strap, and then tuck it into the bra cup. They never show, that way.

    I find them too convenient for hanging the dress up later, so I don't ever cut them off.

    1- a fashion trend you love right now  Scarves (not talking the heavy winter ones).

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now  Anything 80's inspired. Baggy shirts, super skinny jeans and low bootie ankle boots.

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) Nordstrom

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again I usually pull them off, 99% of my clothing isn't hanging anyway.

    Those long flowy summer dresses, often with stripes...they look so comfy, and so flattering

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now

    High-waisted dress shorts. Guess I never got into the dress shorts thing at all, but especially not the high-waisted ones...

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits)

    In Boston, I used to go to Loehmanns. Lately, I've just gone to my closet and hoped I haven't worn that same dress with the same group of people before. I like Ann Taylor and Black House/White Market, though.

    4- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again

     I tuck them into my bra, but I wish I thought of cutting them off then safety pinning them back on! That's a really clever idea

    1- a fashion trend you love right now I honestly can't think of a trend that I like (or many trends at all really). One thing I love but have only recently had the chance to wear due to a new job are pencil skirts.

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now Like a PP, I hate Toms, and their evil twin, Bobs.

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) I've had good luck at The Rack, but I usually buy several dresses from various places online and return what I don't like. Surprisingly, my last great cocktail dress was from Sears online.

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again Cut them off!

    Trend...I don't know. But I've been really wanting some nude, patent leather heels

    Also Toms...great company, but I don't like the pinched toe look

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now mini skirts, I do not have legs for miles and its a fashion don't for me!

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasioin attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits)I find a lot of great stuff at Cashe and at macy's

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again If its something that is easy to hang I cut them out but other wise I deal with tucking in!

    None of the current trends are flattering on me, so...?.

    I don't know if it's a trend, but I've seen quite a few rompers (on adults) this summer. Don't get that one at all.

    I love Nordstrom when I can afford it, and I have a yellow dress from Banana Republic that I've worn for at least 4 different "occasions."

     Depends on the dress... I usually cut the off if there is any other conceivable way to hang the dress without them. If not, I wrap them.

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now--Really high heel shoes--they look off when I was at Nordstrom.  They look like something that you would see on Top Model for a crazy runway challenge.

    1- a fashion trend you love right now -- shift dresses! So easy, and flattering on  most body types.

    2- a fashion trend you hate right now -- toeless boots make me stabby.

    3- Do you have a go-to place for special occasion attire (weddings, special functions, family portraits) -- JCrew is always my first stop.

    3- what do you do with the "hanger straps" that come on dresses...you know the ones that get in the way, stick out of your dresses, but make it so that you can hang your dress up again -- complain about them for awhile, then cut/rip them off while wearing the dress.
