omg! a baby story actually made me giggle!!!

i am not sure when this one aired, but I am watching an episode that I tivod. This girl is having a water birth and her husband was there holding her hand. In the back ground you hear the Doula say you can reach down and feel the bag coming out, and the camera zooms in on the dads face! It was a look of horror!

It just puts it into perspective a bit i suppose. We all have learned about these things throughout the last months from each other, but our husbands will be semi blindsided! I dont think DH knows what he is in for, no matter how much I try to explain stuff to him.

    I told my H he should be watching videos to get a good idea what he will be facing. He's been known to  be "weird" about blood, bodily functions, and nudity. Better to prepare!

    I saw something like this yesterday that had to do with a waterbirth too! I was bored and work, so I googled waterbirthing to learn more about it. One of the photos on there was a mother in the pool along with her husband (I assume) and he just had that look on his face like, "What the heck am I doing in here?"

    I know I have definitely exposed DH to some gynocological revelations since being pregnant, and we are only halfway! Poor guy!

    lol MH has already made it clear he wants nothing to do with watching the birth or any of the "gross stuff". He also has a history of passing out, so hopefully he holds up alright! hahaha

    Luckily, MH isn't squeamish with blood, but he has made it clear he'd rather go back to the 1920s, sit the in waiting room, smoking a cigar, and wait for the nurse to bring him back to a cleaned up mother & baby.  He also told me he always distracted himself during "those videos" in hs health class.  Unfortunate for him I've signed us up for Bradley classes (which are considered "husband coached childbirth"), so I think they will help prepare him.  I know he'll be there for me, I just think he's nervous because he doesn't know what to expect.
