I'm 4'11" and was 110 lbs pre-pregnancy. In the last month, I have ballooned! Most ladies who've been pregnant before guess that I'm 7-8 months along when I'm only 6 months in. I've noticed the taller ladies in my yoga class don't show as much - is our height an explanatory factor? I'm excercising and eating well but my tummy is starting to feel the pull and I'm not sure how much bigger I can stretch. I feel like I've been showing big from the beginning and I kept thinking maybe it's twins, but we've had the 20 week sono and still just 1 little person in there so I don't have much of an explanation for how huge I am compared to other pregnant ladies. My weight gain is rather normal - definitely within the realms of what the Dr recommend.
Height-wise & should-width, I'm XS but my belly's circumfrance won't fit much longer in that size
I feel freakishly large ![]()
Re: For petite little mamas-to-be: are you showing more than your taller friends?
Height is a factor! I'm 5"3 and despite it being my first pregnancy, I started showing very quickly.
People always ask me when I'm due, and when I say December 26th they make a face and go 'Well, your going to get way bigger! You have so much more to go'
I don't even want to think of how big my belly is going to be in the next few months haha.

ME TOO! Well, for the most part. I'm 4'11" also and just about 115-120 ppw. But I was also a DD prepregnancy. lol I look HUGE too though. I think it's just cause were smaller framed we look so big. It's like with boobs a D looks about right on someone with a taller frame but on a shorter person it looks BIG. I haven't actually gained almost any weight but I look 3 times the size of one of my friends who's due in a month! She's taller than me and has very obviously gained weight but it almost looks like we could switch gestation! lol
I'm not sure height is a factor.
I'm 5'2 and I'm not showing at all. My sister is 5'6-5'7 and was showing at 11 weeks. It was hidden well from other people but if she lifted her shirt, there was definitely a bump.
I started showing early too..I am 5'5 and was 110lbs..now ? lol
I usually have such a tiny 24 inch waste that even food shows if I eat. Its all good though..working out every couple of days. I love my bump!
I'm just under 5'3 and have a barely there torso. I have just started showing this past month and it is now out there for all to see.
This is my first but I am way smaller than most of the people in the area that are farther behind me or just due around the same time. They are all taller than me as well. So I guess it's different for everyone!
Height is actually not a factor as much as the length of your torso. I'm 5'8 and have no torso so I show SOOO much earlier and have more of a belly bump out in front.
I was HUGE with my DD I am so scared of how big I'm going to be this time. I already lost sight of my toes....
I?m 5?3 and 112lbs (size 2) pre-preggo and my belly is still quite small (I can still sleep comfortably on my back for a majority of the night). I?m 27 weeks along now and people are shocked that I?m this far along since I look like I?m 4 months pregnant. I haven?t had to buy any maternity tops yet, and am still buying a small size in tops, just my pants don?t fit.
Sometimes, I still have to tell people that I?m pregnant because depending on what I wear, people can?t tell. The doctor told me that baby is measuring a little smaller than average and wants me to eat more, I?ve gained about 15lbs and she wants me to gain 30lbs by the end of my pregnancy. The doc did say that baby may be smaller than average because I?m also petite to begin with..
for the record, my waistline is measuring at 36 inches now.. up 10.5" from pre-preganancy..
