How can I bring a baby bottle on an airplane? Can it be not mixed yet?

Want to bring two bottles full of just water and two separate containers of formula powder mix.  Is this allowed on the airplane?  Or do I have to mix them before, not my favorite option because I would have to bring a cooler. 

What have others done?

    What I would do... Is bring empty bottles, 2 water bottles, and the individual wrapped formula... They are in the tin-foil tubes sold in the box at the stores.  This way airport security can see all of the items in othe rginal containers and won't question you.  Loose formula powder could cause some concern going thru security... I don't know though maybe not...

    I'm not positive, but I think you can bring the ready-to-eat formula on a plane...my brother did that when they had to fly a few years back.

    If you can't do that, can you buy bottled water once you get past security & just bring the powdered formula?

    We brought separate water and formula powder when we went on our international flight. At security, they asked me to open the containers and just waved a test strip over both to check for drugs. They did this in front of me.

    We flew to Bermuda in July and had no issues bringing full bottles on the plane with us. They said that liquid/food for babies was exempt from the 4 oz rule, and they let us bring a sippy cup and an 8 oz bottle through.

    We just flew with sippy cups of milk and water, so I see no reason why you couldn't have bottles with water and the powder separate.

    I just brought the powder and the empty bottles.  Then I bought a big bottle of water in the airport.

    I have flown with my DD twice now. Both times I premeasured the formula and placed it in the bottle. Then I got on the plane and they gave me water and I mixed it and voila she had her bottle. Now if she needs it before the plane buy bottled water in the airport. It's not difficult, trust me.

    Now she's on whole milk and it's a lot easier.

    I took a few bottle full of regular WCM (like 8 oz) and applesauce, pudding, 2 bottles of water.  I put everything in my little handheld cooler bag w/the ice packs AND snacks.  And they tested a bunch of stuff and let it all go through.  I wouldn't worry as long as you have your baby w/you they'll just test all your stuff and let it go through.
