Miracle BFP's? (unmedicated, unassisted, and/or surprise)

Hey ladies -

I'm just wondering how many other miracle BFP'ers there are on here.  I lurk a lot looking for posts like this one and I was just hoping to connect with some people who have experienced this!

*edited to clarify**

All BFPs on this board are miracles lol.  I'm flustered - forgive me!

  • My BFP was truly a surprise. Because of a chromsome abnormality they told me I would never get pregnant with my own eggs and if I did I wouldn't carry to term.

My daughter was born on 8/17 and is happy and healthy. I truly think that Acupuncture and the Lupron from my DE IVF cycle in 8/10 is what helped us get pregnant on our own.

? We can only appreciate the miracle of a sunrise if we have waited in the darkness... ?

  • We got a BFP on a break cycle. I had/have horrid endo, and DH's numbers weren't superb. We were about to begin treatments after I recovered from hip surgery. So, I'm an unassisted endo success/mild MFI story...but definitely not as incredible as many other ladies' stories around here!

  • I had a surprise BFP during a break cycle- we were unexplained IF but my BFP came several months after a lap to remove some significant endo from one of my ovaries. I'm convinced the surgery is what did the trick for us.

But I know all the ladies here consider their BFPs to be miracles!

  • I definitely had a miracle BFP!

We were in the adoption process for roughly a year, and things were really starting to move forward. Because we were pursuing embryo adoption, we had to have a letter from our doctor stating that I was able to carry a baby. Well, long story short, but for roughly five to six months I had doctors dragging their feet on giving me a diagnosis and/or the letter. One doctor thought I had PCOS, the next doctor said definitely not. We moved on to an RE sometime in late June/early July.

Almost immediately after my first internal ultrasound, they said I had polycystic ovaries (40 cysts all up) and that pregnancy would be difficult to achieve, but not impossible. Bloodwork showed that my insulin levels were normal, which meant I did not have to take Metformin. However, I was still on Clomid (started that May/June).

Due to an uncoming military move, I elected to have my July/Aug cycle extremely monitored - i.e. doctor's visits at least once a week. I think I saw the doc 5 times in 3-4 weeks and got stuck more times than I can remember. On the day I ovulated, they did a post-coital test. The results came back very poorly - my mucus was not the right consistency for ovulation (though my body was ovulating), and therefore the sperm, though present, were not moving at all. I left disappointed in my body, but at the same time glad to know at least a small part of why in 3 years we hadn't conceived.

And...then came the surprise. Two days before my cycle was due to start, I got a BFP!!! I was so shocked it seriously took me days for the news to really sink in. We are so thrilled and are due May 4, 2011 (so I am 6w, 2d today).

  • We had not been trying long (got pregnant on cycle 8), but, since i was nearing 35, I had some testing done that showed the poor lab results in my siggy. We saw an RE that told us we should do IVF, and may need donor eggs. I somehow got pregnant that cycle. Sometimes I think if we had tried longer, I would have never known I was DOR, but in a way it's made me more appreciative of this pregnancy.

  • All babies are miracles! And we had a surprise miracle!

We did 4 IUIs and then took this summer off before we were going to move forward with IVF.  I had been planning to schedule an appointment with my RE since the summer had ended but I had been procrastinating.  Was planning to call soon but my period was late so I POAS and we were pleasantly surprised to get a BFP!

  • Mine was  a total surprise.  We had failed 5 rounds of Clomid/IUI and had a consult w/ a new RE.  We were planning to try a round of injectibles in July/Aug before moving onto IVF in Sept.  The Dr. told me to call when I got my period and we would start the baseline u/s etc.  Only I never got it.  Naturally I assumed my body had just given up on me, not that there was any way I could've possibly gotten pg on my own.  I was almost 8 weeks along before I decided to quit being in denial and go for an u/s.

  • This baby was conceived on a break cycle.  We had tried for 20 cycles, had an ectopic and a loss, and then we decided to go to an RE.  We tried three cycles of Clomid and two IUI's with no success.  We decided to take a break and I think we did the deed one time that month...bam...BFP!

  • Ours was a miracle treatment BFP like the others.  It had only been 10 months, but we'd gotten the MFI diagnosis at 6 months.  We had 0% morphology on the day of our IUI, and were told that it was not going to work, and we had to consider other options.  The RE told us that we'd go ahead with the IUI, since the sperm was already washed, but basically that's the only reason.  We had figured out how we were going to pull money from our retirement, and borrow from our parents etc. to afford OOP IVF.  But... here we are, super duper lucky.  :-)

  • After three years of trying/ IF treatments and terrible irregular bleeding I was scheduled to go in for a laproscopic procedure in July. Was in my gown about to have the IV put in and my pregnancy test came back positive. This surgery was the last stop before IVF! Truly a miracle for us. I'm 11 weeks today and sometimes it seems unreal.
