Warning: Postsecret and 9/11

For those who are especially sensitive and for those who might just like a warning for 9/11 related stuff, there's a particularly haunting (IMO) post card on Postsecret today. It honestly made me go cold.

I assumed there would be 9/11 related secrets today, but even this one surprised me in its intensity

    bfp 3 - blighted ovum/d&c on 4.13.13 @ 8 weeks

    bfp 4 - 3rd IUI, very late BFN with super low P, c/p

    bfp 5 - natural bfp while on lupron, baby born via RCS on 4.27.15 @ 39 weeks

    bfp 6 - surprise! baby born via RCS on 11.13.16 @ 38 weeks

    Yes, that's the one I was thinking of when I made the post. I'm sensitive to that topic

    Nevermind. I think I know which one you are talking about. That image is frightening and has always been the worst part for me when watching coverage of 9/11.

    Agreed. And there was nothing worse than watching that live on the actual day. It will stay in my mind forever.

    I'm sensitive to those images too.  Immediately after 9/11, I watched A LOT of news coverage.  Partly because I was interested in the developments, and partly because it was the only thing on.  The news coverage didn't bother me too much. One day, about 1-2 weeks after the event, I saw a picture in the newspaper of someone jumping and I just burst out into tears.....from that day on, I couldn't watch any more coverage.

    Preliminary labs/testing @ 6 months: TSH, A1c, progesterone, prolactin, SA, HSG all normal

    I agree, that footage is the hardest to watch. I remember watching something from that day where they talked about a series of thuds and how it was people hitting the ground. I can't get that out of my mind.

    I was a 1st grade teacher in NYC on that day. That is the image that was on the cover of all NYC papers and played repeatedly on the tvs that my students were watching. And because of that, some of my students thought it was happening again and again. That's all they really understood from that day... something happened with airplanes, the Twin Towers and people jumped out of buildings.

    They had the photographer of that picture on fox news about 30 minutes ago. Apparently he took many of what they called "jumper" photos. His name is Richard Drew. Oddly enough, that morning he was working a maternity runway shoot.

    It is hard to look at these kinds of pictures. Compared to some of the others I have seen, it is eerie how calm he looks.
