  Did the dr express any concerns?  I went in at what they estimated 6 wks and the hb had JUST started beating (it was pretty slow).  I think ~6wks is right on the cusp of when the heart starts beating. . .

  that is probably on the cusp of being just a tad too early.  heart starts beating at 6 weeks.

  5 1/2 is early. It usually starts 6-6 1/2 weeks. I had one at 5w2d and didn't have a hb, but at 6w2d did. Good luck.

  i went last week and i seen mine and i was a little over 5 1/2 weeks. it just varies im sure!

  Typically it is around 6 weeks that you start to see the flicker of the hb.  I went in at exactly 6 weeks and with Baby A there was a hb and with Baby B, no hb.  2 days later, both had hbs.  So, I'd say that not seeing a hb at 5 1/2 weeks isn't unusual.
