Pregnant after IF

Anterior placenta?

I have an anterior placenta based on my u/s on Tues at 15w6d.  I know that because of this, it can take longer to feel baby's movement, so I was wondering for those who have had anterior placentas, when did you 1st feel baby move?   And did your placenta eventually move posteriorly as the pregnancy progressed?

Re: Anterior placenta?

  • I have an anterior placenta and still do at almost 35 weeks. I thought I wouldnt be able to feel the baby move but I felt his first kick at 17 weeks. It depends where the baby is. In my case the placenta is to the right in the front and his feet were by the left. My placenta is still in the same location and dr's say it is fine

Best of luck to you! =)

  • To my knowledge, placenta has not moved.  Felt the first kick at 20w5d.  The good news was that because we had to wait until it was really strong, DH felt it at the same time i did!

  • It probably won;t move a whole heck of a lot.  With twins I have anterior AND posterior placentas.  SO it's hard to say when I first felt them move because it could've been either.  I know it was closer to 20-22 weeks before it got seriously noticeable.

Don't worry.  And there is nothing 'wrong' with an anterior placenta.
