''cause we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way"
This was my moms ring tone for about 3 weeks because she couldnt figure out how to get it to play a different part of the song. It's pretty funny when a 60 year old womans phone goes off and sings about a boot in your ass...

Toby Keith epitomizes a knuckle-draggin, mouth-breathing dumbass with a record deal.
Epitomizes, I say.
Yeah, I'm Team Dixie Chicks, all the way.
FUTK! I love the Dixie Chicks.
Also, DH and I went to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill for our anniversary dinner last night. We've lived in OKC for 4 years and we felt like it was time to go. Dinner was $50. A little salty in more ways than one. But there was a big sequined saddle hanging from the ceiling like a disco ball, so that made it all worth it.
Dude, they spelled collection with a K. That right there is just... wow.
And those pants? Way to emphasize a FUPA. Seriously.
I told you guys. Fugly.
Ew. Klassy in every sense of the spelling.
Those are the most hideous things I've ever seen. And they're $70! On Sale!!!11eleventy!1!!!11! I would love to be in that design meeting where someone was like, "I have an idea! Sequined...leopard print...Harem pants!"
When someone buys Nike's or NB, or any other hard-soled shoes for their LO who is just learning to walk, I kinda side-eye it. I mean, aren't RileyRoos and the flexible Stride Rite prewalkers the best kind to get to help your child learn to walk?

I don't think they help your kid learn to walk, they just are better because they have to build up the muscles and arches in their feet and hard soled shoes hinder that. FWIW, Izzy just wears socks everywhere.

Oops, I didn't really mean learn to walk. The softer, more flexible soles helps them feel the ground under their feet. The boys went barefoot most of the summer. We just got them some Robeez.
Lily wears POS Garanimals walking shoes because there's like, this black, springy turf they play on outside that scuff the fvck out of her shoes and make them look like crap on a stick.
So, I guess it's my FFFC that my kid wears Wal-Mart shoes.
I'll see your Garanimals and raise you some Faded Glory footed PJs. I loved those things, but I don't think they make them in size 18 months. ;(
And no, I wouldn't spend a substantial amount of money on shoes that will only get messed up that quickly.

They don't make them past 12 months. It is the sadness.
OK, phew. Seriously, I bought them for her, and her first day back from daycare, they looked like she'd worn them to plant in the garden and step in dogshiit for like, years.
Well, um, maybe they did plant a garden and step in dog poop. Duh.
My SIL bought her son some of those crocs knock-offs from Walmart. Those things can take a beating.
My real FFFC is that I'm sick of all the GoT references on the boards because I have no farking clue wtf you guys are talking about...yet I can't stop myself from opening the damn threads that specifically say GoT.
Also, I named my FF team the Small Potatoes, after the Disney Junior short. Yup-I am a nerd!

It would take me about 8 times as long to read 1 of those books as it does any of you guys. I don't like reading so I get distracted very easily!

I'm still on book 1, I've had it for 5 weeks. You could read it.

I'm sure I could, I just really dislike reading. I have to force myself to do it.

I have nothing to add to the Game of Thrones, nor will I ever. I have no interest in it at all.
I love the Kardashians...totally in love with them.
I am still side-eyeing whoever it was who said they were dressing their baby up as Freddy Krueger. I don't care how big of a horror movie fan you are, your one yr old should not be dressed as a horror movie "monster". And no one can convince me that it is just hallowen, just a costume, etc.
Even though I was out alone this morning, I am still looking forward to naptime.
Just in general, or can you really focus if it's about something you find intriguing? I truly believe there's something out there for everyone, and that if, given the subject is appealing to the reader, that anyone can find pleasure in reading.
If i REALLY try to focus, and the content is really interesting to me, I can somewhat enjoy reading. It's finding something I like that is the issue.
I really don't want Ryan to grow up hating reading like I do, so I'm making an effort to read more. I guess I can confess (since this is FFFC!) that I am currently reading the Pretty Little Liars series. I'm really into the show, so the books are easy enough for me to follow along with. I just get bored because the entire first book was the very first episode of the show-i could've knocked that out in one hour on TV!

Case in point! It makes me happy you're making an effort to read for R, because that's awesome and junk. Reading is reading, yo. Find something you like and dig in!
I have been known to read a wide variety of stuff. Some lauded in the literary circles, some... well, not, lol.
I agree, reading is reading! And some of that literary stuff is garbage, IMO. I'm looking at you, Jack Kerouac.

It breaks my moms heart that I don't like reading-the woman sits down and reads a book start to finish in about 3 hours. She's an amazingly fast reader and absorbs it all like a sponge. I on the other hand take days or weeks to read books and usually have to reread stuff.
I really do think reading is important though, so for Ry's sake I am making an effort. I've read 3 books in the past month which is more than I can say for the past 2 years (or possibly more). And the boy loves to sit and look through his books, which makes me so happy!

This used to be me before Gideon was born. I could finish a book in a couple of hours, a day tops. It took me 2 weeks to read The Help because the only time I could find to pick it up and read was in the bathroom. I would LOVE it if my DH gets a job where he doesn't have to work nights EVER AGAIN.

Agreed.
The two men in my life. Oh, and I have a husband too...
"Freedom isn't free...there's a hefty fvckin' fee."
"Freedom costs a buck o' five."
That's what I think of everytime I think of Toby Keith.
FYI, my best friend is from Moore, OK, and they have a Toby Keith drive and a Toby Keith restaurant (mentioned in PP). Apparently it's his home town.

$10 from Wal-Mart. I don't think the Nike swish would make him like them any better.
