NTR-regarding flying

Next week, we are going on vacation and I convinced DH to buy airline tickets. I haven't flown for a few years and yesterday my father told me that I can't put a whole bottle of shampoo/conditioner/soap with your checked luggage....Now I only thought this was true for carry on....I am confused? I have fairly long hair and a little travel shampoo won't cut it for me for being there a week. If I can't bring it period I will just buy some when I get there. But I would like to know as I am putting together a list of things we need to pack. I am going to get on the FAA website at some point and look, but any knowledge would be good.

    In your checked luggage you can have as big off a bottle of shampoo and condition as you want.  they only limit carry on liquids.

    I have flown several times in the last couple years on most of the major airlines. You can put bring whatever you want as far as toiletries goes in your checked bags. For your carryon you can only have 1 quart ziploc bag with 3oz or smaller containers. TSA has a great website if you have any other questions

    Your father doesn't know what he's talking about. You absolutely can have a whole bottle of shampoo in your checked luggage.

    You are right.

    That said, if you're going to a hotel (not a b&b or renting a house/condo), they will replace the travel shampoo every day. That or it's just easier to buy a smaller bottle when you arrive and leave it behind. Personal opinion, though.

    Thanks ladies... and mrs.kapow, we are going to the IL's and my MIL has offered to let me wear her pajamas and robe so I wouldn't have to pack mineIndifferent no thank you.

    This. You can bring any size liquids as long as they're checked.

    she is about my size...I know she means well...but the thought kind of creeps me out.
