I told DH about the upcoming 4 month wakeful period DS is likely to go through (and he may be going through it now a little early - so fun). He had not heard of it and I said "Trust me, it's a real thing. Ask your dad friends about it." So he asks 3 friends (with 7 kids between them) and none of them have heard of this.
So is it not as common or well know as TB makes it sound? Or they don't know about it because they're dads? (No offense to dads, it just seems that often the moms are more in the loop about developmental stuff.)

Re: 4 Month wakeful
yeah - i think its a bump/KellyMom thing.
My doctor - who's young, has BF 3 kids and is totally pro-BF was like "what are you talking about?" She said I should sleep train DD w/ CIO or Ferber when it happened. I asked my mom friends who were all pro-BF and some did extended BF to 24 mo+, etc. and they'd never heard of it.

Someone's getting a little brother!
I guess you can say we went through it for naps. DS would NOT take a nap to save his life...or he would take 2 or 3 30-minute naps a day. I think there was even a time where he would only take 10 minute naps. It was exhausting...but he made up for it at night...although if I remember it correctly, he would get up SUPER early.
It's also mentioned in the Wonder Weeks books I think.
There are lots of mentions of sleep regressions with Dr. Sears and Ferber at certain time periods.
