It figures.....(toddler sleep issues)

So I posted a little while ago how we transitioned DS into a toddler bed and it has not been going well. Lots of crying, night waking, etc. When we got back from OC on Monday it was even worse. Now he wouldn't even lay down to go to bed without screaming (which he had been doing fine, it was just the multiple wake ups that was the problem). We were very, very tired and frustrated.

So we begrudgingly decided we were going to reassemble the crib and get a crib tent in the hopes he would start sleeping again. We shelled out $65 for a crib tent earlier in the week.....it is supposed to arrive today. The past two nights he has slept like an absolute angel. {{Facepalm}}

  • I'm sure the tent will come in handy at some point. I hope this is the start of a nice long stretch of good sleeping for your son.

  • Did you get a pea pod bed? I should of let you borrow ours. Annabelle won't sleep in hers at all. Oh she's play in it, that's about it.

    I'm not looking forward to transition to a toddler bed at all.

  • Isn't that the way it always works out?!  I am putting of the move to a toddler bed as long as we can, luckily J has never tried to climb out of his crib.

    No, this is a tent that just goes over the top of the crib to corral them in.

  • I would probably not open the crib tent and wait to see if the good sleeping continues before putting the crib back together.

    Sophia did well with the toddler bed for a few weeks then wouldn't let us lay her down. She cried, chased us out of the room. I felt horrible. What worked for us was to read to her in her own bed. Up until now we've been reading to her in our bed, ever since she was a baby. We don't have a glider - no space. So, since we've started tucking her in and reading to her in her bed, she has been going to bed much more calmly than the past month or so.

  • Oh, that figures. That's my life so that would probably happen to me. $65 is worth spending to have peaceful night's sleep though! And you can keep it just in case you need it for Sean or baby#2. Hoping the good nights of sleep continue!

    Oh I've seen them. I'm glad it's working out.
