I go today to get an xray to start dealing with the tailbone pain I've been experiencing since early May. I refused xrays all summer at my chiropractor's office because of our IVF and not wanting to irradiate my ovaries, but now that basically we're moving on to donor eggs (this last cycle of Femara + trying naturally was a bust), I really have to just deal with it, especially since the chiropractor said it was time to do something else.
So I say to the nice female xray tech something like "I've got an appointment for using donor eggs next Monday, but we're still trying on our own this month, so can you possibly just aim the thing right at my butt and not above?" Her answer: no, because of the way they have to shoot it, and how exciting our donor egg thing is, and also, she's pregnant. At first I wasn't even sure I heard her right, because WHY ON EARTH would you say something like that to someone who has just told her what I have? Then I realize she's just a young pregnant thing who has NO IDEA of what the fact that I'm using donor eggs is all about (though she did mention that at one point she thought about donating herself for the money). She asked me if I already have children and I say no. So then I ask her how far along she is and she says "10 weeks." Then she says "It's not as fun in the beginning as people think." And I want to KILL her, and I say "actually, unfortunately, I've been pregnant." And she says "but just the first trimester, right?" And I say "right." And close down the conversation.
WTF??? Part of me wanted to say to her "yeah, 10 weeks. That's awesome. Hope you don't have a miscarriage. Mine was at 10 weeks." Fortunately I am not that mean.
Re: So, this I didn't need
I applaud you for remaining calm.
I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. People can be so clueless and so insensitive.
Hope your back gets better soon!

I'm so sorry. Some people are just so wrapped up in themselves, they don't realize the garbage that they spew out of their mouths can be hurtful to others.
