Femara and spotting?

Just wondering if anyone else takes femara and then spots like 4-5 days before AF is due and really comes full force?  This has happened to me with all of my past femara cycles and when I told RE about it all he said was, "Yeah, sometimes fertility drugs do that"  Frustrating.

    I've done a few rounds of femara and beyond making my cycles long or short I did see a day or 2 of spotting before AF.  Never have spotting on unmedicated (or clomid cycles) just full flow.  My RE said it's normal.
