I just realized the baby swing we bought - Fisher Price My Little Lamb - is battery operated and not a plug in model. Would you return it and buy a model that can be plugged in, or not worry about it and just be sure to have extra batteries in the house. (We ALWAYS have extra batteries because as soon as I use them, I add batteries to our weekly grocery list).
What brand/model of swing do you have?
Re: Baby Swing ? - 2nd time moms
We have battery....didn't even realize they made plug ins!
DD hated the swing, so we never went through one set of batteries.
I didn't realize they made ones that plug in, if your house has a lot of plugs then get one of those. If it's old like my house and plugs are few and far inbetween then you may want to keep the battery one.
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
I'd return it. One of our must have features for a swing was it had to plug in. Partly to never be caught short, partly to get consistent performance from the swing and partly as an environmental concern. I believe our swing was a fisher price and they make several with the nice papasan seat, that will swing in either direction and can be both plugged in or use batteries.
I don't think it's worth investing in rechargables as very little else uses the same battery size. Investing in a charger and a good set (or few good sets) of rechargable AA batteries IS a good investment but, won't help with your swing.
We did keep one set of batteries for the swing on hand in case of a power failure but, never needed to use them.
I went with Graco, plug in... I don?t want to be caught without batteries and a crying baby.

Good to know - thanks, ladies!!
We have this same one and used it for my daughter. I just kept extra batteries on hand, it didn't drain them too quickly.
