Hello. I don't often post on this board, but I do lurk a lot. I have PCOS but got bfp after just 1 year, so I don't necessarily feel that I belong on this board. I do have a question that I hope that you ladies will be willing to answer for me. I got a bfp after my first cycle on follistim and ovidrel. According to my lmp, I should be 7w6d today, but had my first ultrasound today and measured at 5w6d with a hb of 100. I am pretty nervous because it seems to me like this is indicative of a problem. I was just wondering if any of you have had similar experiences. If so, what was the outcome? I know that I need to wait for the next u/s to see the growth. I am just wanting to prepare myself for the worst (all the while hoping for the best)! Your personal experiences will help me to do this. Also, I am still waiting for my dr to call me with his interpertation of the results.
Thank you, Tara
Re: Question
LMP is a notoriously awful way to date a pregnancy, especially when IF and PCOS are involved. What CD did you trigger with the Ovidrel?
Assuming the baby is actually around 5w6d, a hb of 100 is actually excellent... the heart starts to beat around 6 weeks, so it may have just started at 5w6d. Any heartbeat at that time would be great and the expectation is that it would be slower at the beginning.
Because we're fancy like that.
It's much more important to measure accurately according to when you O'ed, not your LMP, when injectibles/triggers are involved. It sounds like you're on track given that - congrats!
