Re: MOMs Check-In 7/25
2 - Rants/Raves? I cannot wrap my head around how quickly this pregnancy has gone. Like you said, "home stretch." It's crazy how fast it went!
3 - How are you feeling? Things are getting hard! I'm having a lot more contractions, and not the regular BH where your stomach just tightens. These hurt! At least 10 times a day, I lose my breath and have a hard time not panicking. The acid reflux is out of control and it is so incredibly painful to walk sometimes, I wonder how anyone ever carries triplets or quads. All of that being said, these babies are moving up a storm and I know that our remaining time together is very precious. I'm trying not to wish it away.
4 - Any questions? Have your doctors talked to you about size and delivery? My A is head down and B is breech. They were 5lbs, 4oz. and 4lbs, 15oz at 32 weeks. My doctor wasn't there, but will be this week and I'm going to talk to him about the fact that these babies are in the 90th percentile and whether their size will affect 1) how early we induce (right now we're planning on 37-38 weeks) and 2) whether a CS is safer. Just wondered if you all have already had those conversations.
5 - What have you gotten accomplished so far? Cribs put together, clothes washed? What sort of things do you still need to do? We moved my son downstairs and repainted his room to be the nursery, we have both cribs up with full bedding, the dresser and rocker are in the nursery, all clothes and blankets have been washed and put away, all bouncers, rock n plays, etc. have been assembled, and we bought a minivan! I still have to put their names above their cribs, hang bookshelves, put some décor/art above the changing table, put the double stroller together, load the car seats and pack a hospital bag. But the car seats and hospital bag are the only real necessities....we could still bring the babies home without the other stuff getting done.
6 - GTKY - What has been your favorite vacation ever and why? I loved taking the kids to Disney and I loved some of the vacations that DH and I took as a couple, but my favorite was last year when we rented a condo and took the kids to the beach for a week. It was so laid back and we just did what we wanted, whenever we felt like it. No schedule...no feeling like we had to squeeze in tourist attractions. We lazed around on the beach, played in the pool, cooked smores, played mini golf, etc. It was so nice!
1 - How far along are you? 34 + 1
2 - Rants/Raves? The usual. Reflux is getting nasty and the swelling in my entire body sucks (someone told me the other day that they were noticing a bit of swelling in my face....
3 - How are you feeling? Overall, I'm a mess. I went grocery shopping with DH and the kids yesterday and I couldn't believe how hard it was. I was walking at a snail's pace through the entire store. I kept waiting for someone to get stuck behind me and make some nasty comment about me not moving fast enough. I took Elle out to the van while DH paid for the groceries with Robert and I just sat there and cried. Of course, both of the kids and DH handled it like champs. ("It's ok mama. It'll all be ok.") I'm just in a ton of pain, uncomfortable and feeling completely useless. But, like @Ssoccerball I keep remember that this time is fleeting. I'm 99% sure that this will end up being my last pregnancy and I know I'm going to miss all these jabs, kicks and rolls.
4 - Any questions?
5 - What have you gotten accomplished so far? Cribs put together, clothes washed? What sort of things do you still need to do? DH and a buddy of his got the kiddo's loft beds put together on Saturday (thanks Ikea for making putting 2 beds together a full day project! Wish your directions didn't suck so much.). And then we spend a good part of the day yesterday cleaning and figuring out where everything was going to go since Elle moved into Robert's room. Hopefully DH will be able to get the cribs put together this week and I plan on getting the clothes, sheets and blankets washed throughout the week.
6 - GTKY - What has been your favorite vacation ever and why? I'd have to say the Caribbean cruise we went on with my family prior to having kids. It was so relaxing. Plus, there's nothing like swimming in completely clear blue water and waking up to amazing sunrises over the water.
@Ssoccerball - My two are measuring big. And, while my MFM is well aware of this, he hasn't said anything about taking them early (I've already got my c-section scheduled for 37+2). All he said was 1) I can only stretch so much and 2) They won't stop it if I go into labor after 34 weeks.
2 - Rants/Raves? I'm tired. And big. And achy. And hot. And contracty. Thursday is my last day of work so that's awesome.
3 - How are you feeling? See above. Mostly like crap.
4 - Any questions? As always, I'm sure I'll think of one later today.
5 - What have you gotten accomplished so far? Cribs put together, clothes washed? What sort of things do you still need to do?
The nursery is almost all ready. I made sure the car seats all fit in our new van but won't install for good until later. I have a few more things to wash and some changing pad covers to make but we are mostly ready!
6 - GTKY - What has been your favorite vacation ever and why?
Our honeymoon. All inclusive in the Dominican Republic was amazeballs.
34 + 2
2 - Rants/Raves?
My left hip is randomly killing me. It starts out as an intense ache in the top of my pelvis, right where it meets the shelf of my belly, then radiates around into my butt and then all the way down the outside of my leg, almost to my ankle. It's so, so painful. It's like the worst case of tendinitis I've ever had.
3 - How are you feeling?
Other than the hip pain, random, painful gas and Baby B's butt having been lodged in my ribs (growing steadily bigger) for the last few weeks, I'm good. No real complaints otherwise.
4 - Any questions?
Nope.
5 - What have you gotten accomplished so far? Cribs put together, clothes washed? What sort of things do you still need to do?
All the nursery furniture is together and in place, the room is painted, carpeted and mostly decorated, clothes are all washed and put away, probably 3/4 of the various burp cloths/receiving blankets/other cloth things are washed and put away, books and toys are put away.
We still need to hang up one piece of artwork, put together the stroller and car seat adapters, finish up the last of the laundry, wash and put away bottles and get the downstairs gear (second changing table, pack n play and swings) put in place (once we figure out exactly where it's all going) and stock the changing table with wipes, diapers, burp cloths and receiving blankets.
6 - GTKY - What has been your favorite vacation ever and why?
Either the immersion school trip I took to Spain (with a day trip to Morocco and layovers in Switzerland and Germany) in high school for my Spanish class or our honeymoon to the Bahamas.
Spain because it was beautiful, fun and educational. And it was my first time vacationing without my parents (I was 13), so that was exciting.
The Bahamas because it was so relaxing. I loved being able to eat whenever/whatever I wanted and the included drinks (I'm not much of a drinker, but it was fun swimming up to the pool bar or visiting one of the others and getting anything I wanted to try). I was 22 and felt so grown up.

I find them boring and hate trying to make sure I catch every little movement so I can press the little button they give you, but they're not bad. It's fun listening to their heartbeats.

The only part I didn't like (other than being afraid to move because I didn't want to disrupt the monitors, which led to boredom with a quickness) was the movement tracking. They were kicking up a storm in the waiting room and then quieted down as soon as they put the straps on me, so I had to really pay attention for the little twitches and pokes, even with the ice water I was given to drink.

2 - Rants/Raves? Baby b has moved her bum into my rib and will not move down hurts so bad, Braxton Hicks, cramps, it's hit just generally tired and uncomfortable can't really find a good position lol.
3 - How are you feeling? Tired I'm a hairstylist and have my own business finally this week I just said whoever I have booked I'll do but I'm getting too much pressure and my dr has wanted me to stop working for for over 6 weeks now.
4 - Any questions? Is there something I can do for rib pain could it be gallstones? and has anyone else has clear stuff come out of their boobs yet? Lol forts time momma over here btw the babies were 4.2 and 3.15 and I've only gained 6-7 pounds not sure if that's normal but the dr hasn't said anything.
5 - What have you gotten accomplished so far? Cribs put together, clothes washed? What sort of things do you still need to do?pretty much same as everyone else just their name decals need a square and good eye (my dad), car seats aren't installed yet and put together playpen and double stroller.
6 - GTKY - What has been your favorite vacation ever and why? Hmm we love going to Cuba just relaxing at an all-inclusive would live to bring babes someday. Oh btw has anyone picked names yet? We like Natalia for the girl and Easton for the boy.
Oh that's I started the stress test a week ago and the ultrasounds are weekly now. The tech said the boy didn't do as well but started to do better by the end they wanting his heart rate to go up and down a little more. But if my ultrasound was OK I could go home. I don't personally like those test I can never get comfortable and I feel like a big complainer when I ask to switch positions. I live my bed and I'm still having a hard time but I want to get positive won't be long now and I can hold my babes. Oh they scheduled mu c section for Sept 2 but they are monitoring me very closely I'm thinking it could happen anytime now.
