Hi Ladies, we are ttc #2 and I am sad because I just got my period after having sex every day of my fertile period (we chart). How many tries did it take you to get pregnant with LO#2 (or more)? DH is a doctor and says the odds for a perfectly healthy woman who is able to conceive is normally around 20% success (which sounds unbelievably low), but we conceived DD on our first try so I am just hunting around for some clues. TIA and congrats on your babies!

you should try fertilityfriend.com it really helped me.
Thanks! going there right now! Thanks for all the great responses!
#1: 2nd month trying
#2: 11th month trying
With #1 I got pregnant on the first try, but hadbeen off BCP for 6 month. Husband was away during that time so getting pregnant was not a concern.
With #2 I got pregnant on the second month/cycle of trying. First month I had just gone off the pill and we had sex much more. Second month we literally had sex 1 time and it happened.
Don't stress about it. I know when it happens fast the first time you expect the same the second time, but trying for a few months is totally normal and common.
It took 1 month for #1, 1 month for pregnancy #2 (mc) and 2 months for #3. Good Luck to you!
with ds#1 it took treatment with ds#2 it took 13 months this time, 2nd cycle
good luck

#1: 8 cycles
#2: 2 cycles
#3: we tried for 5 cycles, stopped ttc and got surprised
When we decided to start trying for DS #1 it took us a couple of months, I thought it was going to take much longer.
With this second one, we weren't trying.. we were preventing and bam - look at that we are that 1%. So after almost 2 years of using protection we ended up getting pregnant with number two.
-6 tries
LOL, that means that I got pregnant 6 cycles earlier than would have been ideal. And I was charting CM and CP but we had a drunken slip-up during my fertile window and here we are.
1st try for all three pregnancies. Needless to say DH is getting a vasectomy after this babe (our last) is born
I think that 20% is somewhat deceiving b/c if you are charting, or have a general idea of your cycle and when ovulation occurs or your approximate window I've read that stats for those women are closer to 50% each cycle trying if they are timing sex within their fertile period. Best of luck!
#1 took 3 months (I was 37).
#2 took 2 months (I am 40).
surprised on both counts to say the least. I thought based on my age it would take alot longer, but I have a short cycle and can feel ovulation, so I know when we need to get busy for best results. Lucky us.
GL to you. Hopefully you will get you BPF very soon.

#1 - First month. I wasn't charting/temping/etc. I now realize how lucky we were.
This pregnancy - It was our second month without protection, but we weren't really "trying." With both, we played the, "let's just see what happens" game.
Good luck to you!
DS took nine months, next pregnancy (which we lost) was a surprise while I was still BF'ing, and this pregnancy took just one month with OPK's. It seems to get getting easier for us to get KU. I think answers will probably cover every possibilty
~Started TTC 2/09. BFP #1 11/09. EDD 8/7/10. DS born 8/7/10.~
~Surprise BFP #2 5/11 while still BF'ing. Natural M/C @ 7w3d.~
~BFP #3 8/11. EDD 4/24/12. Heavy bleeding episodes from a lost twin. DD born 4/14/12.~
~Started TTC 2/13. BFP #4 3/13. EDD 11/8/13. Hoping for smooth sailing!~
This.
For LO#1 we conceived in the first month of "not avoiding". For LO#2 it literally just took once and boom, we were pregnant. Apparently we are ridiculously fertile...
Marriage: 12.18.04
DD1: 5.19.10
DD2: 4.11.12
Baby #1 - 7 cycles...just got off the pill
Baby #2 - 1 cycle after having the non-hormonal IUD Paragard taken out.
I was charting and taking my temperature for both
I have to disagree with your RE. It helps to know what's going on with your body and when you ovulated instead of going at it blindly.
It took 5 cycles and 6 months (4 of them charting) with Lily.
It took 8 cycles (all charting), giving up TTC, me getting a job and us putting our house on the market to find out the next month that I randomly got pregnant without even knowing when I had O with this one.
Charting is VERY accurate if you are doing it right. Your RE really has no idea what he/she is talking about.
With my 1st it happened without even trying. I was on BC.
With #2, it took 15 months. 1 m/c. and 2 rounds of Clomid.
With #3 (this one) it happened the first month of "not avoiding."

We got pg w/DD right away...I mean, "we got married and 3 weeks later got a BFP" kind of right away lol. We started TTC #2 just after DD was 4 months (Nov 09) because we didn't know how long it would take to get pg again - I have irregular cycles. I was charting for about 8 months but got too stressed out when every month was a negative result. DD turned 2 in July and we got a BFP for #2 mid-August. That was actually the cycle that, had I gotten my period, we were going to start seeing a specialist to try & figure some things out.
Good Luck!
