Those who have been on Follistim or similar (PCOS girls)

How many days of shots did you have to do on any of your cycles?

 

Last cycle was 11 days at 50IU. This cycle, I have been on it for 15 days (most at 50, several at 75) & still very little growth. They are checking my blood work today & will get back to me with hopefully an increased dosage, but this cycle has been tough. 


04/07/11- PCOS Diagnosis w/GYN. Put on Metformin (1500 mgs)
04/25/11- 1st consultation with RE (Confirmed PCOS & Anovulation)
05/09/11-HSG-All clear! 05/13/11-SA-Normal. Found out on 2/14/12, low Morph (1%).
06/17/11-10 days of Clomid (100, 150) No response.
07/10/11-03/20/12- 5 Injectable (Follistim) IUI cycles; 4 BFN, 1 C/P. (stims ranged from 11 days to 25 days)
05/28/12-Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. 75 mcg Synthroid.

IVF with ICSI in June/July 2013 = BFP!. Beta # 1 = 123. Beta # 2 = 252. Due March 25th. Baby boy arrived March 27, 2013!

FET #1 - 10/4/14 = BFP!! Beta #1 = 179. Beta # 2 = 499. Due June 22nd.

    I have only been on Follistim once, this past IUI. I was on 150IUS for 7 days.I ovulated early- before I triggered. I had 1 follicle.
    Me:40 DH:40 AMH:.21 FSH: 10.9 2 failed IUIs on Clomid; 4 failed IUIs using Follistim; 1 cancelled IVF due to poor response; Switched REs in March 2012; Currently stimming for final IVF. Estrogen priming with microsode lupron; 6/25:8 retrieved,7 mature,5 fertilized with ICSI; 6/30: transferred 4. Beta #1 7/12:92.1 Beta #2 7/16: 528 Beta #3 7/18: 1,042 7/25/12: First ultrasound. 1 bean measuring 6 weeks 1 day Hb 116 BabyFruit Ticker

    I'm doing bravelle at the moment.  This is my second cycle but the first I did 75 iu every other day for 7 days and we just deemed it was a bad cycle and I did 2 months of birth control to suppress my ovaries and bring hormones back to normal.  This cycle I am doing 225 ius (3 vials) every day for 3 days then 150 on day 4.  Then I go in for a scan.  I also did 5 days of 7.5 of femara.  I am also PCOS.

    I misread your post. I do not have PCOS.

    I used Follistim for IVF, so I'm sure it's different. I was on Follistim 75 for the first 10 days, and then decreased down to 50units for the last 2. Good luck on this cycle!

    For my last IUI we did 150iU for 7 days, same protocol this month.

    I don't have PCOS, but i am currently on a follistim cycle...I've been on for 2 weeks, starting at 50, then 75, then 100, now its 125, and not a whole lot going on yet, my last check was sunday, i'm going back thursday.  So we'll see, hoping for at least 1 matured! i had 2 measuring about 10

    I have pcos. I did IVF and was on 750ui of follistim. I think I just stimmed for 9 days but was at such a high dose my ovaries were so big they couldn't stim me any more.

    I started with letrozole last cycle at 10mg per day for 5 days with a poor response. I then did Follistim for 3 days @ 125, 100, 75, then continued for 3 more days at 100, 100, 100. I ended up with follli at 18, and three at 15, along with several smaller. Currently at the tail end of my 2ww, keeping my fingers crossed, but got a BFN this morning, so not feeling too positive.

     

    dx: thin PCOS 5/2011 annovulatory, DH= normal, cycle 1: clomid:clomid:ovidrel:TIC = BFN cycle 2: letrozole:follistim:ovidrel:endometrim IUI= BFN cycle 3: follistim:ovidrel: IUI (10/14/11)= BFP (10dpo beta=36, 13dpo beta= 280, 17dpo beta=1237) 1st US 11/11/11= 1HB + 2 other gest sacs 2nd US 11/18/11= TRIPLETS!! 2 boys and a girl born at 31.5 weeks on may 9th.
