For the first time in my life...

I'm not going back to school today.  I went straight through school, to university, to teaching.  There hasn't been a first day of school I haven't been part of.  

I LOVE my LO, I LOVE that I get to stay home with him for a year, but its so WEIRD not going to work today!  All the nervous giggles of kids, fresh pencils, new lists, shiny floors, the anticipation of a great year....

I'm going to have to get out with B today I think.

    Enjoy it! The year will fly by and you will wish for more time. I wish I could stay home for a year with my LO

    That has to be so strange. It was weird for me to go back to work after 4 months (1 month bed rest + 3 months off after the boys) so I can only imagine what a year would be like. Canadians are very lucky when it comes to maternity leave!

    I found out the first Saturday after the first week.  Crazy huh?


    I know I'm lucky ladies!  I don't know how you guys do it!

    Me too!  This is the first time in memory that I haven't thought of time solely in terms of semesters (school, college, grad school, teaching...).  It's freaking weird, honestly.

    I had the same issue last week. I'm not Canadian, but I still took a year leave of absence and my district has to hold my position.
