3rd Trimester

Is this dress suitable for third trimester mother?

Hi,ladies. What kind of clothes do u suggest to wear for a pregnant mother? I  have been 3rd trimester mother. I prefers to dress sexy even i am pregnant now. The other day, I  bought this Space Age Dress and show it to my sister. She said It's really nice style. But she think it's too tight for me. I'm a little worry about it for sure. What do u think? What kind of clothes should I suggest for me? Thanks for any input..

  • You are a grown woman in her third trimester.... Not a teenager going clubbing. This is just slutty! Get a clue!

  • Wow, PP was a little harsh.  But I do think that dress is kinda inappropriate, maybe for after you lose the baby weight...?
  • Honestly, I still wear the same clothes I wore before I was pregnant. I have never worn a dress like that, and wouldn't now. I do think its a little uncomfortable looking for pregnancy, and maybe a little inappropriate for a mom. But if it makes you feel good, I don't see a huge problem with it. I just go with clothes that look good, and are comfortable.

I don't think that it is fair to be so rude. It was just a question, and she wanted people's opinions. No reason to make her feel slutty. We are all just looking for support here.

  • I think it's cute - I agree with PP that it might be uncomfortable to wear during pregnancy, but it's definitely not "slutty."

  • If you like and it and its comfortable on..then go for it. It's cute and definitely not slutty.

  • My fear would be that it looks on the short side now, with the amount of fabric needed to cover my bump now, it would end up looking like a shirt :)

  • Cute and stylish but not the type of dress a mom-to-be should be wearing. It would choke your belly and be very uncomfortable and is quite short. My rule of thumb for clothes in my 3rd trimester is that my summer dresses have to come to my knee! Otherwise I'm just too self conscious. Definitely save this dress for a night out with the girls after your pregnancy!

  • I don't have a problem with what people wear but I honestly don't get where you would put your 3rd trimester bump in there?! The dress would just ride up and look like a shirt, assuming it is elastic enough to stretch over the belly.

  • it doesn't look comfortable for one and all I care about right now is comfort when getting dressed! Its also a bit "going to the club" not I'm having a baby. Not to say you can't be sexy and pregnant but sometimes the less is more thing doesnt work out

  • To me that looks like a clubbing dress and I would find it to be inappropriate on anyone outside of a club period. I can't imagine going to clubs in my 3rd trimester so....

NTM it looks short enough that with a belly, it just wouldnt work without leggings or something.

I totally get still wanting to be attractive and sexy--I have my hipshrinx ready to go the minute I deliver and will bust my a$$ to make sure I'm back in my size 2 MEKs by Xmas but I also threw out my 1/2 inch inseam abercrombie shorts this summer as I don't want to be "that mom" next summer. I dont intend to wear mom shorts, but I do realize that with the extra bending, dipping and chasing children, mini skirts and micromini shorts are probably not the best choice.

  • I say if you are second guessing it and you feel the need to ask for opinions then you are already thinking it isn't appropriate.

On that note, it's a cute dress. No way would I be able to wear that now. I am too big, where will your belly fit? It doesn't look comfortable at all.

  • I wouldn't even be able to fit into a dress like that at this point in my pregnancy. Just looking at that belt makes me want to run for clothes that are more lose and breathable. I can't stand anything tight on me at this point. I'd be very uncomfortable.

  • Just curious how big have you gotten? Seems like a dress to wear after your pregnancy. In a fashion sense- I just don't see how the belt would work... if it goes right across your belly it will not look good. It would have to be above your belly/right under your boobs. As for it not being appropriate for a mother? I think that is a load.... You should definitely dress for your age, but being a mother doesn't make you an old lady
