I was thinking about registering on Amazon because things seem to be cheaper. My only concern is that a store like Target or Babies R' Us is just easier for people especially for grandparents. Anyone have any thoughts? TIA

Re: where to register?
I would suggest you register more than one place. Make one of them a store that people can visit. People love to buy baby gifts, and if your registry isn't likely for them to use, you may find yourself overwhelmed with gifts that you can't use (or don't like), while staple items never get fulfilled.
You should register at a local store if for the older crowd. BRU is good because they have a variety of baby items, but Walmart and Target seems to be a lot more convenient for people.
You can also register for online registries for the younger crowd and out of state people. It never hurts to register at more than one places!
I agree with PP. Register at more than one place (especially if you're leaning towards online).
Target, BRU, Baby Depot, maybe even consider Wal-Mart. Places like these are easier for older people that are anti internet. (We don't have a Buy Buy Baby by us but that could also be an option).
Beyond this majority of gifts are purchased very close to the event date. So if people are invited to a shower for you then they'll probably wait until last minute to get a gift. For this reason give them an actual store option they can stop by after work, etc.
I'm with you and Amazon too. DH and I just decided to say no thanks for having a shower (family issues). However I made an Amazon registry and we've been purchasing things off of it as amazing deals come across. I've gotten some good deals (including a $180 mattress for $95 and a $60 playmat for $29). I love the free shipping and zero sales tax (even though it gets confusing for some). It's a fabulous option for things that you don't get as gifts and have to buy yourself! And things seem to change there often. For those of us mommy's to be we might be willing to check back often watching good deals. For the average shower guest this isn't going to be the case.
I did Amazon and Babies R Us. I really LOVE the Amazon registry. It's so easy to look at and easy to use. I've just been thrilled with it. The prices are awesome also and I love that you can use the reviews to pick between products. I am reviews nut so this was great for me.
I did BRU so that people could have a brick and mortar option if they wanted to go to the store. This has worked out well so far. I wish I didn't even have the BRU one but it was a necessity so it's fine.
