My husband wanted to do "family day" which I'm totally down with. But his mom wanted to go to the "Arts, beats and eats" festival which is what we were doing... I thought I'd be great for her to come.
Um, guess I was wrong and shouldn't have invited her.
Is family day JUST you, SO and your children or is it really that bad if grandparents came?
Re: who's included on family day?
A) Good luck to you. I've heard since they moved the festival to RO it's a nightmare to get around.
It's usually just us but we've invited grandparents before.
On Saturdays I usually take LO to MIL's house and on Sundays I take him to my parents so we don't often invite them out on DH's days off.
If she was planning on going that day either way, then I think it's fine that you told her you were going too.
Family day = Just me, DH, and DD IMO.
A) I was just telling DH that it is so much better than when it was in Pontiac. We went for three years in Pontiac and DH swore that he would never, ever attend that festival again. It was too crowded and we just shuffled from place to place. I went with my sister this year in Royal Oak and we could actually move. DH gave me the side-eye when I took our stroller, but it wasn't a problem at all.
Interesting that we've had such different experiences. Well, mine wasn't experience.. I just stay away from A, B & E at all costs. But I'm glad you were able to get around! Good to know!
