I am finding that I am soooo tired every day that I can hardly make it thru the afternoon. I'm having like 5 serves if caffeine a day, which I know can't be good for me. I am eating a really healthy diet, taking multi vitamins, and getting plenty of exercise - at least 3x per week. LO is actually a decent sleeper, only up once in the night, at 4ish, then I'm back to bed until my girls are up around 6:30, so I'm getting a pretty decent amount of sleep at night, probably consistently 6-7 (broken) hours. I'm no longer BFing. What is wrong with me? Or is this just normal just-had-a-baby tiredness?....I'm at a loss but can't keep this up. Any ideas what is wrong with me, if anything? It's been a while since I had a newborn so maybe this is normal?...
Re: XP: Does this sound normal to you? (baby related)
I'm not a doctor but it sounds normal to me given your circumstances. You have 3 kids. You get 6-7 hours of broken up sleep. It's an okay amount of sleep but not as good as 8 hours, uninterrupted. Your kids are probably running you ragged.
I am in a similar situation. I sleep probably 7-8 hours each night and am still exhausted by afternoon and can barely keep my eyes open past 9 at night. I work out 4 times a week and am a pretty healthy person like you. The only thing I can think is that I am just doing so much each day taking care of a 1 yr old and a 2 year old. I rarely sit down, I feel like I'm on the move all day. If I try to relax, someone needs something within a minute or 2. I also wake up around 6 every day, so I am also tired from being up so early every day.
I also think you should be careful with the caffeine. If you drink too much, you can become dependent and you will be more tired waiting for the next dose of it!
sounds pretty normal to me.
hell i am tired in the afternoon with just two kids.
however if it persists and you just feel like it is something more- i would suggest going to your doc and requesting bloodwork. it could be a vitamin deff or anemia. i had it before i was pregnant and it was def the cause of my tiredness.
also upping the amount of lean protein you eat- def helps. try nuts in the afternoon.
It's exactly how I feel, and I dont even get broken sleep anymore. I chalk it up to pregnancy being tough on the body.
If you're really concerned, go to your doctor. I had similar symptoms and went to my doctor, and found out I have hypothyroidism. It's a simple fix with medication every day and I'm feeling better.
Good luck!
