I can't believe it's happened already, but B has caught his first cold. Nothing too big - no fever, but he's a bit congested, watery eyes and coughing and you can tell he doesn't feel like his normal self (it's heartbreaking so see him try and smile through it - he's such a tender heart!). So far, Q doesn't have any symptoms, but something tells me she won't be as good natured as he is.
What do you do when one gets sick with something like a minor cold or other illness - keep them apart to try and avoid two sickies or keep them together and see what happens?
They sleep in separate cribs and we wash our hands when switching back and forth, but honestly, they're together so much I find it hard to believe we'll be able to avoid cold-sharing.
Re: Seperate or keep together when one gets sick?
Exactly...if one gets it, it's going to take an awful lot for the other not to get sick as well. GL.
We didn't do anything special to keep them separate other than try to avoid having them use each other's pacifiers (when they get to the stage when they steal paci's). Like PP said, by the time one is sick, the other has already probably been exposed.
We don NOTHING different. I figure the other will get sick anyway, and personally I'd rather be through it faster so I don't want one to be sick and then the other.
ETA: That should say "we DID nothing different". I really need to watch what I'm typing.
Poor Kullen is already sick! I had a horrible cold when I went in to be induced with him, and apparently breastfeeding does NOT protect them from everything! lol. I've been doing my best to keep them seperate... but I havent been going out of my way... as other people said-I'm sure if Kullen has it Knox has already been exposed to it so it's probably too late to be preventative.
