This morning was my first injection of Lupron. I filled the syringe, counted to three and stuck the needle into my leg, and as I was holding the syringe, I kind of blanked on what I was supposed to do. My husband could tell, so he said, "I'll take care of the plunging". So he did, and we have Lupron shot #1 under our belt.
After we cleaned up, my husband got a big smirk on his face and kept saying "I'm an awesome plunger" He's telling the dog, he's talking to himself. He looks at me, and says "I think that should be our plan, you inject the needle, I'll be the plunger".
I can't get the image of my husband, dressed as a plumber, holding a toilet plunger out of my head. It keeps making me giggle. ![]()

Re: My husband makes me laugh
That's cute. Good way to get DH on board too. I was lucky mine was there for the first injection, because I mixed my Meopur wrong, and he caught me before I injected it.
Unlike your DH, mine is very squeamish, and had to avert his eyes when the needle went near me. Last night (2nd night), he left the room at that point. But, he really does enjoy being part of the process, which makes things a little easier!

That's so cute! You will find that it definitely gets easier. My biggest problem when I first started the injections was actually putting the needle in. It was like ripping off a bandaid. I would do go to dart it in, but would stop shy of the needle actually going in, a few times, before I took a deep breath and actually did it.
GL on your cycle!

You?re so brave!! DH has to do all of mine while I?m hiding my head under a pillow. He gets really nervous about it, but fronts well because he ?has to be the strong one.?
Most recently, I have started laughing halfway through the injections (I think it?s instead of crying?;)) after he?s done, he always says, ?honey! You can?t laugh while I?m doing this!? Poor man, having to put up with me? J
That's so cute! I'm so glad he was able to help you. What a great "plunger!"
