Hi All - I'm taking over for a few weeks since JM1977 is expecting her LO any day! I apologize if I've left any updates off, please let me know in your post if I need to add anything.

This group is open to anyone who has already gone through donor egg/donor embryo/gestational carrier, is in the process of it, or plan on doing it in the future.

This check-in posted each Tuesday. If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message, and I?ll make sure to add you for next week. Welcome to the lurkers! We know this can be a difficult journey, but we welcome you with open arms. Let us know if we can answer any questions.

Status: Today is my first day back at work after 2 weeks of bedrest for bleeding. I'm still spotting a bit but it's definitely much less compared to the when it first started. I just hope being here doesn't somehow trigger it again. I'm very nervous! I had another u/s yesterday and everything is looking good so far.

QOTD: Travel is one of my great passions! Hard to compare very different locations, but Italy or Greece are up there on my list of faves I've been to. My bucket list of places to go to includes exotic and expensive trips that hopefully one day I'll get to do: African safari, Galapagos Islands, Peru/Machu Picchu, South Pacific, tons more!

Hello Ladies! Hope things are going well for all of you!

Status: I recently had a little bit of a scare I did the NT scan at 12 weeks with this pregnancy and all looked great. When I went back for my a/s the tech told me everything looked perfect and then I got a call from my OB two days later telling me that my nuchal fold was measuring a bit large. After I heard her say Downs and congenital heart abnormalities I zoned out and I have no idea where the conversation went from there. It was the worst. I was told to call and make a follow up with MFM, I called and they could not get me in for a week. This is not something you do to a pregnant mommmy after giving her bad news. I decided to call again the next day and tell them I could not sit and stew on this for a week could I come in sooner. Luckily they got me in the following day. Come to find out after two days of the worst stress ever that it really was nothing. My nuchal fold was measuring a tiny bit large, but the tech was having a hard time getting the measurement in the first place. BTW 5-6 I guess is a grey area and smewhat controversial when it comes to measurements, the Doc told me most places don't even note anything on the report btw 5-6 but for disclosure purposes they just wanted to tell me. I measured 5.4 and when the Dr. took me back to her computer, two of the four measurements they took were under 5 which is where you want them to be. The babies heart looks great growth is right on track and my ultrasound looked perfect besides this one thing. Dr. said she wasn't worried at all and that she was sorry this scared me and that they would do another growth scan on the 7th of Sept just to ease my mind that baby is ok. Sorry this is so long but during this process I discovered this has been happening to lots of women. And the unnecessary panic is awful. I hope this does not happen to anyone else! New technology comes with learning curves and this test is not 100% yet.

QOTW: My favorite vacation spot thus far would probably be the Dominian Republic and the place I would like to vsit most would be Tahiti/Bora Bora!

Update - I'm 20 weeks this week. I have an appt on friday for a/s. We aren't going to find out the gender but I'm excited to see the baby again.

QOTW - I LOVED Sydney, AU. I would move there if I could. I would love to visit Hawaii or New Zealand. One day.

Update: Had an appt yesterday, got to see the baby who was bouncing all around. I graduated from my RE which was awesome!! But I did get a little bit of bad news, not terrible but disappointing. Anyways, they'd like to be proactive since I am allergic to a lot of anesthetics and should avoid a C-section, so they want to see me induced at 38 1/2 weeks. This should ensure the baby doesn't get too big and I'll be able to have a vaginal birth. Not the worst news in the world but I would have liked to had a natural birth, since everything has been so terribly unnatural thus far. I'll get over it though, I just want baby here safe.

QOTW: I'd say my favorite was going to the Bahamas, I loved it, it was beautiful. I'd really like to go on a European vacation and see all of the historic sites, that would be awesome

Status Update: Where are you currently with the DE/ DEmbryo/GC process? Picked the 1st donor. Waiting to hear from the RE office about the financial stuff. We are going the Shared Risk route. Hopefully soon we find out where she is in her cycle. Feeling AF symptoms today, be interesting to see AF actually comes. Looking forward to having more info in the next few weeks and getting this show on the road!

QOTW: What is your favorite vacation spot you've been to? What is the vacation spot you most want to go to that you haven't been? Lakeside on Lake Erie is my favorite vacation spot. I would LOVE to go to Paris or Hawaii or Italy.

Mock cycle is pretty much done. All of the tests are done. Now signing contracts and waiting for my ED to start stims around 9/14.

QOTW: What is your favorite vacation spot you've been to? What is the vacation spot you most want to go to that you haven't been?

Italy would probably be my favorite place for sightseeing (I've been to a lot of places) and for relaxing I have always liked Cozumel, Mexico.

I guess I have always wanted to see India.

QOTD: Maui was wonderful. We did a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon and I would love to go back to Italy and Greece to spend more time. A colleague went on an amazing safari that made me want to do that one day. I would love to go to Australia but I'm not sure I could handle the plane ride!

Oops, I am super late to the check-in; Tuesdays are a rough day for me to remember, especially now while I'm in a holding pattern! But just a quick note, I'm in two places on the list of folks. I should be removed from the "looking into options" list because that information isn't correct anyway (I have not completed my DE testing, that's on 9/12, as the info in the other list says).

Update: I'm 14 dpo today (our last or maybe next-to-last try with my OE with Femara), HPT (internet cheapie) was negative, and I'm expecting AF tomorrow right on time, but haven't had its usual signs (full breasts that make me think I'm pregnant, etc). However, I have no signs of anything else either and I am not really holding out any hope. I have to notify our DE clinic right away when AF does arrive and promise them that DH and I will not BD before our appointment on 9/12 -- that way, we get another shot on our own this next month, maybe even with Femara/IUI at my regular clinic if the DE clinic will let me do that. It's complicated, but I want to keep trying with my OE, because why not, up until I have to go on BCP for the DE clinc.

QOTW: wow, that's hard. My mother won a trip to a 5-star resort--Anse Chastenet, St. Lucia--a few years ago and that was fantastic. I also loved Santorini (for the 2nd time) and Crete on my honeymoon, and I love Italy, especially the Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast. I most want to go to African on safari, but am never going to be able to afford it. Thailand and Morocco are also high on my list.

Now I want to be on vacation!
