Trouble TTC

HSG tomorrow - a quick ?

Am I not supposed to eat or drink before it? I feel like I read a post that someone's dr said that - but mine didn't mention it (atleast not that I remember)!

  • I wasn't given any restrictions at all. Just told to tak 800mg of advil before. And just so you know spotting for a few days after is normal. Good luck.

  • Eat and drink whatever you want.  I visited the ladies room before the procedure to empty my bladder, but that's it. I also spotted for a couple of days afterward, so make sure to bring your own pad! GL!

  • Thanks ladies!! I have pads ready - I've been carrying them since my surgery!

The test isn't till 2pm so I can go home after or lay down at work for a little bit (we have sick rooms w/beds).

  • No eating restrictions, but my DR asked that I eat at least a little something and have some juice before hand. She said that sometimes patients get a little weak feeling, or nauseated when organs are moved around, and the food could help with that.

Take the pain killer! Mine wasn't bad at first, and I had cramps for the first hour or two, but nothing bad. About 4 hours after the HSG, WHOO! I was glad I was home. Cramps like you wouldn't believe!

I hope you get GREAT results.
