We have been making some friends in our neighbourhood. There are quite a few families with young children since we are so close to a great elementary school.
This past weekend Reed was playing in a bouncy house at a neighbourhood barbecue. Reed kept turning the switch off, even after he went into time out and was told not to touch the switch. This is not like Reed at all. He is a really good kid most of the time, and responds to time out.
One of the older kids tells me that Reed keeps turning it off because......the kid who owns the bouncy house keeps telling him to! So I guess Reed's desire to impress the kid was stronger than his need to listen to ME.
He's three and already his friends have more influence than I do. LOL
Re: Other kids influencing your kids....
And...I just reread my post and you probably think I am a crazy person for putting him in time out for turning the bouncy house off...but there were lots of little kids jumping in there and it deflated super fast once it was turned off so someone could have gotten really hurt:)
I trust you're not a crazy person.
I didn't really know what it meant to turn it off... Now I know!
FWIW, I think N would have been the same way in that situation. :-/
