Moving to Maple Grove - Daycare & ECFE ?s

Hi ladies!

We're moving to Maple Grove in October - it seems like such a family friendly city - can't wait to get settled in! We'll be a couple blocks away from Rush Creek Elementary - looking forward to getting involved in the community and hopefully meeting some fun families with little ones.

Daycare Recs

Anyone have rave reviews?  Most likely a center but would consider in-home if we could find a fabulous option.  We've been at the New Horizon downtown for the last 9 months.  It's been ok but really want to find a place that I love - will make drop offs in the morning much easier to have that peace of mind.  My son will be 15 months old in October.

 ECFE?

I've been wanting to do ECFE for a while now but didn't want to to sign up until we knew where we were moving.  Good experience/worth doing?  Thought it would be something fun to do with E and a good way to meet new people.

Any other MG tips/recs would be much appreciated  - thanks for your help!

  • I have a friend that sends her son to the Primrose in MG and loves it.

  • We actually live pretty close to Rush Creek! Super nice area. I was going to suggest Primrose, I am actually the KG teacher there. It is a super great childcare. I think we are full, but definitely give them a call to check. The toddler teacher is great. I would definitely send my DD there, if DH didn't work from home.

I have not tried ECFE yet, but we are actually signed up for a 6 week class in Oct-Nov. I have heard great things about ECFE programs so I would definitely look into that for the move!

    Good Luck

  • Thank you both for the recommendation!  I toured Primrose yesterday and was really impressed!  Unfortunetly they are booked until May 2012 but we might add our name to the wait list.  Touring Step by Step, Shepard's Care, and Maple Grove Academy on Friday.  Not having much luck with in-home availability.  It's quite the process but worth it to find great care :)
