Anyone Deliver at Bryn Mawr w/Main Line WH or planning on it?

I go to Main Line Women's Health....typically see Dr. Dardarian whom I LOVE.  He was awesome through my miscarriages.  How are the other Drs, ok?

I'd love to hear your opinions & experiences with Bryn Mawr!

Thanks!

  • I have gone there for years (for regular GYN) and now with OB. I lost a baby last year at 21 weeks, and the doctors and nurses were all amazing!  I LOVE Dr. Dein and Dr. Bernardini. I also love Dr. Lu.  The only negative I have is my issues with Dr. El-Mallah. I found him extremely rude, not sympathetic and cold.  When I had my 2nd loss last fall, I paged the office and he was on call .. his repsonse to my hunband I was "well, why are you calling me? this is NOT an emergency in my eyes. If you are having a miscarriage, then there is Nothing I can do about it. Go to the ER".  Needless to say, I was LIVID!

  • My doctor was Dardarian as well an we loved him, however Dr. El-Mallah was on duty the day I delivered my DD.  He was very cold and took no time out for us.  All I wanted was to ask him some questions about Cytotec and he was very offended that I was question his recommendation.  He was so rude I cried.  Luckily the nurses at BMH are amazing and my nurse, Thuy, saved the day.  We ened up getting another doctor, Dr. Castelli that isn't even a part of MLWH.  Dr. Castelli was so great I'm still considering switching to his practice eventhough it is far from my house.

  • I've been a patient there for years.  Dr. Bernidini did both of my c-sections and I LOVE her!  She is an excellent physician, surgeon and very likeable too.  She is who I see on a regular basis.

I think Dr. Lu is good too.  I like Dr. Dein, but can see how some may say he comes off a little too confident.  But I just think he really does know his stuff...and would trust him with my baby's life if in a scary delivery.  I've seen Dr. Dardarian a few times and I liked him too.  I have limited experience with Dr. Leon and Dr. El-Mallah...I only had appointments with each once and just didn't really gel with their personalities.

Both of the NPs are great too.  My only complaint is often having to wait for a looong time to be seen at appointments.

  • I chose this practice the first time I was pregnant after extensive searching because we wanted to deliver at Bryn Mawr. I miscarried at 12 weeks and Dr. El Mallah provided extremely compassionate and gentle care during my D&C and encouraged me to come back when I was ready to try again, telling me he would be by my side the entire time. A year later when I got pregnant again, there was no question that I'd go back to the practice. During this pregnancy, which was high risk due to my age and twins, I saw most of the docs: Dein, Bernardini, Dardarian, El Mallah: they provided extremely competent care and offered some very progressive/European treatments such as using a pessary to maintain the pregnancy when my short cervix was diagnosed at 21 weeks. Their care and support got me to 35 weeks and my twins were delivered without issue by Dr. Burns and El Mallah. In fact, we sent our doula home because we really trusted the care the docs gave us during the 12-hour labor. Both our daughter and son had healthy birth weights (6.2 and 5.1 lbs), went right to the nursery and came home with us four days later. During our stay at Bryn Mawr, 3 of our docs came by to check in and congratulate us. This practice has renewed my faith in western medicine and I highly recommend it.
