Question for those of you who had a m/c before

Hi Ladies

So I was on this board up until a few weeks ago when I found out I had a m/c. This was my second pregnancy. My first was easssy with no problems and I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. Anyways my doctor said I can wait one cycle and then start trying again. I am so game for this idea. Can't wait to try again but I have read to maybe wait longer. Anyone on here get pregnant after a miscarriage after only one cycle? Just wanted to check. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I know this is a tough topic to bring up on the first tri board.

I had a m/c in Jan 2010, a week after finding out. My 1st blood draw showed low levels so my OB told me to come back to see how it was going...well they decreased and he told me I would be m/c-ing...sure enough 2 days later I started bleeding. That was Jan 22nd....he said we could try right away....I ovulated 15 days later and conceived DS and had a full term (5 day late) beautiful healthy 9.6 lb baby boy. I also had read some do not recommend getting pregnant right away and others said they did and had great healthy pregnancies. Good luck to you....so sorry for your loss.

I started miscarrying July 23rd. I POAS yesterday and I am pregnant! We did not wait a cycle to start trying again. GL to you! and sorry for your loss..

It took about six weeks for me to get my period after the miscarriage, and my dr wanted us to wait at least one normal cycle before trying again. We were very lucky and got pregnant the first cycle we had the green light, so I had two periods between miscarriage and BFP. I know the knee-jerk reaction is to want to TTC again right away, but my OB felt that giving my system some time to reboot would put me in the best place to have a successful next pregnancy.

I had a CP on 7/4 found out I was pregnant on 8/13... Never had a normal cycle in between... My husband and I def didn't plan it like that it just happened... Good luck to you!!

Same I had a misses mc and my doctor wanted us to wait one cycle.. I just received AF so we will see this cycle if we get our BFP that we have been wanting.. GL

My doctor recommended waiting three months to try again, but I got my period 6 weeks after the M/C and we decided to try again right away and got BFP right away.

Some doctors say to wait 3 months for the body to get rid of all hormone and reboot itself, but I felt ready.

Sorry for what I'm about to say, but you'll want to call your doctor to get you in ASAP to confirm that you're actually pregnant. I took pregnancy tests periodically while waiting for my period after my m/c, and they came up positive for at least a month after my loss because my hormones were still high enough to trigger a positive result. (I took them b/c a negative result would tell me that my period was approaching soon.) This is another reason why doctors want you to get at least one period before TTC again, because a period is a firm signal that your hormones have depleted to zero, and it typically takes more than 4 weeks for that to happen.

I had an early miscarriage at the end of July this year. I was just under 5 weeks and we only knew we were pregnant for about a week. The doctors said because it was so early, it would seem like a normal period and I could try again as soon as we wanted. I just tested today with a BFP!! I'm nervous since I already had one miscarriage - but they say it doesn't mean you will be at higher risk. Good luck to you!

I also got pregnant on the very next cycle. My cycles have always been consistently long and my doctor told me to not worry about taking time off because of it. Turns out, post m/c my cycle actually ended up being shorter than normal (O'd on CD30 which is early for me!)

First, I am so sorry for your loss!

I got my BFP March 30 and started bleeding on April 15. I bled for 28 days and got my first period on June 6th. Then another BFP on July 3rd. I am now 12 weeks pregnant. My doctor said there is no harm in trying again after only one cycle as long as there was no infection that resulted in needing a d&c much later.

I miscarried April 29th. It took about 6 weeks for me to have a normal period, it came on June 11. We conceived June 26th. GL

I had a m/c early - between 4 and 5 weeks. The PA said they sometimes tell people to wait a cycle before trying again, but told me to go ahead that it would be fine. That's when we started temping (love the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility!!) and now we're at 10 1/2 weeks!

Angel, I am really sorry for your loss (((hugs))). I had a MMC at 10 weeks (baby stopped growing at 6w1d) in May and it was absolutely devastating. Our doctors told us we didn't even have to wait one "normal" cycle, but we did anyway. We got pregnant immediately at the end of June and now I am 10w4d along. I'm petrified every single day, but I know we'll never succeed without trying. I've been to the drs, urgent care and the emergency room MANY times within these 10 weeks (spotting/bleeding) but each time the baby has measured right on track. We're hoping this one is a sticky bean.

Best of luck to you. I know how hard it can be to dust yourself off after a m/c, but remember without hope you have nothing! Sending you lots of baby dust in the future.

i m/c in may and 2 weeks after my mc i ovulated and concieved! i am now 12 weeks so fingers are still crossed but i have a good feeling about this one! good luck to you!

After my first m/c, I got pg on the second cycle trying. That ended in a chemical pregnancy. We were told we didn't have to wait to try so we tried right away and got pg. That one ended in a m/c also. So we waited a cycle to try again and here we are. Pg again. (shrugs) It's still early for me. It took us 10 months to get pg the first time so I don't know why it changed.

Good luck. I spent A LOT of time on TTCAL.

We waited for one normal period, tried, and got KU. It was so weird for it to be so easy because for DS, it took us 9 months of trying. The lost pregnancy was a (welcomed) surprise since I was still BF'ing. I immediately knew I wanted to be pregnant again, weaned, and poof, here I am again. My OB said 2-3 normal cycles or 2-3 months, whichever came first since I didn't have reliable periods from BF'ing. I asked and she said it was only her advice because there is a slight increased risk for some women for another MC if the next pregnancy doesn't give the lining enough time to build up. We were willing to take the risk, especially since many OB's now call that school of thougt and research outdated and no longer go by it for women who have no health conditions.

I m/c several month ago.Since I had D&C I 've decided to give my body a break for at least 2-3 cycles.Even emotionally I was't ready for couple month.I think it is all about our feelings and readiness! Other than that most docs say it 's OK to get pregnant after 1 cycle! Good luck!!!
