my husband i are both type O. but im positive he's negative. i remember my mom telling me she had to get a shot when she delivered because my dad and her were different blood types. and it would affect the baby. anyone know anything about this and when does the doctor test for it?
Re: different blood type?
You actually should have gotten the shot (Rhogam) around 28 weeks and then get another one within 72 hours of LO being born. It's pretty standard.
Edit: Read your post incorrectly - since you are + you do not need to do anything.
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
You're fine, you don't need the shot. Because you're positive, if your baby is positive, your blood is compatible, and if you're baby's negative, it won't combat your blood either. If you had been negative and your baby was positive, it might be a different story.
Relax, you're fine. Plus, your OB would have caught it in your first tri with your first visit bloodwork, because they (should) type your blood then.
